As REPLAY_ENABLED
is not defined in the game projects, it's unlikely that the engine was built with replay support (this would change the size of some shared structures, such as player_info_t
)

It seems strange then to leave the replay code but not the NextBot code if it's not intended to be used? Or have I missed some dependency on it?

The CS:S bots (which I assume are predecessors to NextBot) were never included in 2006/2007 either.

I guess so, it just seems strange to add code that is more or less entirely useless, if they didn't want to give the functionality then should it not be removed? In addition, there was a commit to change the youtube developer key part of that.

NextBot and Replay are features that are used in TF2 which shares many source files with the Source SDK. They aren't supported in the games in the SDK itself, though. None of HL2, the Episodes, or HL2MP use replay or NextBot. Unfortunately that means they aren't supported by the SDK.
