The buffer simply needs to be divisible by 32.

For example, when streaming using SDL, you open an audio context using SDL_OpenAudioDevice. Part of what you're requesting is the number of samples the buffer should be (SDL_AudioSpec -> samples). Typically this is a power of 2... sndfilter simply requires that it's divisible by 32, so any power of 2 that is 32 or greater would suffice (64, 128, 256, 512, etc...).
