Won't build on Arch LInux about vericoin-oldrepo HOT 5 OPEN

I should clarify that I am trying to build the basic headless daemon for server use.

I've got the same error, but on Debian GNU/Linux 9.3 (stretch) (ARCH: x86_64)

I got it fixed by installing an older version of OpenSLL:
sudo apt-get install libssl1.0-dev

Installing an outdated distribution package is definitely not ideal. That said, I'm running a different distribution and would more detail on precisely how far I'd need to roll back libssl to work. I'm not sure that's a library I'd particularly want to roll back, to be honest.

Hi Whompy, i agree on installing an older package (especially SSL) is not ideal. Nevertheless here's the list of my installed packages:
