An upgrade to 0.8+ breaks Java 8 compatibility.
@vietj is that something we can allow just for this module? For sure older Quasar versions have issues.

is 0.8+ a breaking change ?
we might actually use a profile to test with both
and use MR jars if there are API changes so it works with both versions

All classes in 0.8 are being compiled for JDK 9+

I've been using the latest Quasar with vertx-sync in production for a while. It's definitely compatible.
I had to author my own fork of Quasar to support both JDK8 and JDK11. I just use two source sets, which is definitely pretty ugly but it works. If I understood Gradle better it would be shareable.
