The products are not being restricted based on customer group in my store about groupscatalog2 HOT 9 CLOSED

Hi Chris,

if the customer group is set during the request flow, before the product collections are loaded, it should work as expected. When and how are you setting the customer group ID? Are you setting it on the customer model, or on the customer session, or both?
The extension reads the value set on the customer session, that is Mage::getSingleton('customer/session')->getCustomerGroupId();

Regarding what you want to do, since Magento 1.7 (CE)/1.12 (EE) you can specify customer group based prices for products. Maybe that's all you need?

The way I am setting the customer group using this extension:

It offers an option of setting the customer group in the query parameter "rtp"

e.g. http://www.zenbedroom.com/zen_usa/mattresses.html?rtp=4

I must admit I'm not too well versed in Magento code so I'm not sure whether it's setting the customer group by session or customer model... Will attempt to find out.

As for Magento 1.7 - this is already taken care of for me by your extension and would rather avoid an upgrade in the production environment at the moment. My main objective is to set the customer group by the link to the store.

At the moment I can't give any new update. Current status is Mark sais he believes that after he does some refactoring on his side my extension won't need any changes. Maybe try contacting him directly?
