I reinstalled using ./mage and its 100% installed correctly. Still can't see anything in System > Configuration

The "Netzarbeiter Extensions" is a tab on the left side after you choose the "Configuration" dropdown option. It's not another child option in the top menu. Please let me know if you still can't find it.

Thats strange. It's right here https://github.com/Vinai/groupscatalog2/blob/master/app/code/community/Netzarbeiter/GroupsCatalog2/etc/system.xml
It's also in the Magento Connect package.
Can you check that file exists in your installation?
