Hi mrchess,
Using the selection by id or class you can use children()
to get the input value.
I don't know if is clearer make a public function like: $.fn.raty.getScore('#big');
instead to do: $('#big').children('#big-score').val();
from raty.
Yeah I guess I didn't understand how raty worked. I thought after it got initialized it would turn the element to have properties where you can get a value -- I thought it would create a raty object of some sort where it would maintain the state of the rating so I could execute a
$('#big').getRatyValue()
Instead of fetching it through children. No worries :)

If you have some good ideas, please, fork e push it. (:

Indeed :). I added some things to raty. You can see here:
https://github.com/mrchess/starify
I'm not sure if I was supposed to fork it before adding? Sorry I don't know
the proper github etiquette for contributing/adding to projects -- still
kind of new
