What Leiningen version are you using?
The versions on the getting started page were also a little out of date, so I've updated them to Compojure 0.6.4 and Leiningen 0.4.5. I believe there were some problems with running old versions of lein-ring with the latest version of Leiningen. You might want to try updating your project.clj file with the new versions, removing the lib and classes directories, and re-running lein deps to get the new dependencies.
Let me know if that does anything.

Sorry, the failure was on my side (accidentally doubled 2nd line in core.clj). Works now!
