I see absolutely no reason for why showing a context menu should disable the very hotkeys it shows - it is counter to common sense in user interface design.

I would mark this as a bug rather than feature request, but it's of course your call. For reference, the Konqueror one has been recognised by the developers as a bug.

Seems to me that the right-click menu 'blocks' any recognition of keyboard input. A nice-to-have, I suppose.
