To whoever stumbles upon this error, if you're using a nginx reverse proxy with a subpath, simply add a trailing slash at the end of the proxy_pass directive like so:

location /wgeasy/ {
    include /etc/nginx/proxy_params;
    proxy_pass http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:51821/; # <- the trailing slash makes difference
}

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce your issue (Safari, macOS 11).

You should set the password using docker-compose.yml by the way. Shouldn't make a difference though.
