Hi again @birdsarah!
Thank you for reporting this. Feel free to submit a PR to fix the issues and we will review it! Regarding the requirement file, I think using pip install -e '.[dev] is not enough to take into account the requirement file. First pip install -r requirements-dev.txt should run to install the pinned deps, then pip install -e '.[dev]'. I see the README does not reflects that. We should correct this.
