Does such a template exist? If not, please write one first.
from twinkle.
Is there documentation on how twinkle works with a template, i.e. the parameters it passes in?
from twinkle.
It seems to depend on the template. If you want to write a new welcome template, just copy one of the existing ones, and change the text (keeping the same parameters).

I created this one but can't test it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jojalozzo/Welcome-anon-test

I don't like the wording. Please do this:
- fix the wording
- ask at WT:WC
- move it to template space

Started discussion: Welcoming committee#Twinkle welcome for IP newcomers testing in article space
from twinkle.
No immediate response from welcome committee. I edited it to better match {{Welcometest}} and moved it to template space.
from twinkle.
Would it be hard for me to add it to the list of Welcome templates? If not, please point me to the right docs.
from twinkle.
Well, point us to where it is. To test it, you can add it to your own custom list of welcome templates using the interface at [[WP:TWPREFS]].
from twinkle.
Actually, I see you posted a link earlier on. Sorry.
from twinkle.
I was able to add it to my custom list but it doesn't add an article name so someone else will have to test that.
from twinkle.
It's somewhat same to this. And it does not fulfill the want of you being user friendly.

Thank you for the feedback. The plain welcome template you suggest is great (and I use it a lot for editors that have not used article space for test edits) but it is not designed for an editor who made test edits in article space. It does not let the editor know about using the sandbox and it does not tell the editor which page their edits were removed from. How would you suggest we improve user friendliness?
from twinkle.
why don't you use this as the starting point.
from twinkle.
I don't think that one is any more appropriate than the plain Welcome template since it also doesn't mention test editing or the sandbox and is not designed for anonymous IPs. Why don't you like the adaptation of the Warning-test and Welcome-anon templates that I have proposed and already ran by the welcome committee?
from twinkle.
why don't you setup {{REVISIONUSER}} template in the W-Graphical template rather than {{BASEPAGENAME}}
from twinkle.
I don't know much about these templates. Is there documentation for writing them? I just based this one on one of the others that Twinkle already uses. Please feel free to fix it up if it's not done correctly. Have you tested it?
from twinkle.
See above commit. It should appear on-wiki soon.
