The white image thing could be a chrome rendering problem - mine looked white for a moment and eventually rendered. Have you tried loading that image again (copy the URL and open in a new tab)?

Also, can you link what page isn't scrolling?

http://stats.zowb.net/mindcrack.html isn't scrolling. It was that way for the last version as well.

Capture page resulted in this: http://i.imgur.com/JIT5wWk.png which, for chrome, is white. For any other browser it's gray and a little speckly... the resolution is correct but not the image. What I'm seeing in firefox: http://i.imgur.com/6gK5ApH.png (Hey, rehost image works!)

Ah - that site is using a full width and height iframe, which means it doesn't have an accessible document height.

Jobeanie123 avatar Jobeanie123 commented on June 7, 2024

Upon closer inspection, it's transparent, hence the grey-specklyness in Firefox.

Can you try a site like reddit? I'm thinking that the difference in specklyness is to do with the browser's handling of an empty image.

Jobeanie123 avatar Jobeanie123 commented on June 7, 2024

Like I said, firefox handles imgur differently - it puts the image on a creme colored background that's a little tiny bit grainy. The image the extension produces is just transparent, which is why it looks white in chrome. If you remove the .png: http://imgur.com/JIT5wWk

There's just nothing there, it's all transparent.

williamparry avatar williamparry commented on June 7, 2024

Right, so the bug is that it creates an image that's transparent?

Jobeanie123 avatar Jobeanie123 commented on June 7, 2024

It appears so.

Cool, could you try doing the same thing for reddit.com and see if it produces a blank image? I'm wondering if it's something to do with the iframe (I was also able to capture a normal view of it)

Jobeanie123 avatar Jobeanie123 commented on June 7, 2024

Reddit produces a blank image. The only thing I can find so far that actually captures the page is yahoo. Nevermind, yahoo did the same thing that stats page did. It only captured what it could see just then, despite clicking "capture page"

Strange... Could you try disabling the existing imgur extension (if you have it installed) and restarting Chrome? Also, what version of Chrome are you running? Thanks for your help on this :)

Hmm, I tried that earlier and it didn't do anything, but I tried it again and it seems to be working... It works: http://i.imgur.com/9EcNkqs.jpg however the images are extremely lossy (a way for it to tell if it's over 10MB would be nice, that way it could compress as needed. If that's even possible).

from imgur-extension.

williamparry avatar williamparry commented on June 7, 2024

Yeah I noticed it was very lossy too - I'll look into it.

What I'm thinking is that the Delete Images bug broke the application, which meant that the capture page function stopped working. I'll fix that bug first and go from there. Cheers.

Jobeanie123 avatar Jobeanie123 commented on June 7, 2024

Ahh I see. Capture page also resizes how it should be, which is strange. Good luck.

from imgur-extension.

williamparry avatar williamparry commented on June 7, 2024

The Capture page doesn't resize - the browser will by default show you a proportionally scaled version of the whole image (which looks squashed) until you click on it to zoom.

I'm going to close this bug as the functionality looks like it's working. The lossy image is a separate issue, I think.
