@Tainted-Fool Thank you for the kind words. I personally dont see the delay you're talking about. Play with the timeoutlen as suggested by @ArianaAsl and see if that fixes it for you. Typically lightline statusline is not the fastest thing when it comes to changing modes. I have my timeoutlen set to 300 to make it tolerable which will be included in Wim-2.2. So doing the same will probably make the cursor changes faster too. cheers.

glad it helped and keep in mind that if you lower the timeout to ridiculous values like 100, using macros and normal mode commands will become a race. cheers.
