FYI, I was used to have this chrome+.xsession-errors thing, but it's not showing anymore now (chrome 47.0.2526.111).
Nonetheless, I can add a command line switch allowing to exclude some files from the results. If I add this change to a way to automatically add some command line switches (with the help of an environnement variable, like PROGRESS_ARGS
), it will fix this issue for you (and your "default -M" issue, too).
Any thoughts?

PROGRESS_ARGS sounds good to me.
ignoring stuff: we can add an option such as --ignore-file to ignore progress on specific files, plus we could add --ignore-inactive=x to ignore items that have been 0 B/s for x seconds.

Added support for option --ignore-file
(a6f4358) and PROGRESS_ARGS
environment variable (850e838) to version v0.10. Hope it helps!
