Hi, thank you for the suggestion and the PR. Can you explain why do you want this feature? I want to understand the story behind this feature.

Yes sure. I work on a project with multiple software components - of which one is the front-end written in Scala.js. These components are loosely connected and some (including the front-end) create strings (like notifications etc.) to display. To display these strings, they are sent to the front-end and translated there. The translation happens only in the front-end, since that way the strings can be translated on-the-fly by the front-end whenever the user changes the language, without requesting the strings again (in another language) from all other components.

I want to use your scala-xgettext compiler plugin to extract the strings defined in the front-end. However - the way things are at the moment - the plugin throws an exception on those parts where I try to feed it a string received from another component; that is why I'd like the option to just ignore those.
