Hmm... I'll have to add detection as to whether the user has systemd or init. I thought systemd supported backward compatibility but maybe this option is not deployed on some distros.

Also, what's the recommended method for uninstalling or cleaning up the previously unsuccessful ZeroTierOne installation attempt?

Run uninstall.sh in /var/lib/zerotier-one, then if you want to delete the keys and everything just rm -rf /var/lib/zerotier-one

I've done another release, so this fix is now in the current version.

The uninstaller did its job and I was able to bulid and install the latest release successfully, thank you.
