Ahh, okay, I just misunderstood the downloads page it seems. I thought this was communicating that I could get either master or 0.8.0 (which I thought was the latest release):
I see now this is actually saying "master is the WIP 0.8.0 release" - this wasn't clear to me.

For what it's worth, this is following the SemVer Specification.

I 100% agree the versions are right, only it is the layout on the releases
page which confused me (I incorrectly thought the master/prerelease
versions were the latest, mostly because they were presented to me first)
