What are your feelings on the 1.9 hash syntax? {foo: 'bar'}

I've been using it a lot more because I've been writing a lot more javascript lately. However most of these calls we're serializing to JSON so that'll convert symbols to strings. We probably should stay away from the new syntax (and symbols) because of that. Those symbols will stay in the memory table.

One other reason I originally supported v1.8.7 was because at the time that was all JRuby supported. Now they have v1.9 support, so I feel more confident killing v1.8.7 support.

What about production apps running 1.8.7? I know there are a lot of them.

They can continue to use old versions of harvested. It's important to note that 1.8.7 is soon at its end of life, and those folks need to upgrade anyway.

1.8 and 1.9 are both killed in v3.0.0.rc1.
