This theme is not the modification of the academic theme. It was my mistake to include your name in the LICENSE.MD file. So I changed it. Your project and mine are totally different. And you didn't contribute to this theme at all. Why are you saying that? Please tell me what's the problem. This is my project. not yours. This project is my hard work. And I really shocked that what you are saying.

This Github repository fails to give proper attribution to the original creator of the theme.

  • The original creator is me. Not you. I just copy and pasted LICENSE.md from your theme. This is my first open-source project. I didn't know much about the license back then.

As this is a derivative work of the Academic theme

  • I just referred to several other themes as well as your theme. And the amount of code referenced is very small.

I'm not gonna specify your theme no matter what because this is my hard work. I'm really curious how can you say that?. If you have seen my code, this is a totally different project. Please tell me if you don't like something. But I will never specify your theme no matter what.

If you refuse to comply with Academic's MIT license then we will consider escalating this.

The MIT license requires that you include Academic's license and copyright notice and revert your attempts to deface it. If you have a problem understanding the MIT license then I suggest you seek legal advice.

Hey.. you know that the code base is totally different. That was a mistake that I included your name in README.MD file. Can we talk more about it in the Hugo community?

I'm glad that you were inspired by the Academic Page Builder for Hugo.

You appear to claim to have changed significant parts of the code and only have small parts of the Academic codebase remaining. All I am asking is for you to attribute the code that you copied and respect the MIT license by including the copyright notice in the MIT license that you also copied. You were complying with the license until recently, when you choose to remove Academic's copyright notice. Why is it so difficult to revert the defacement to the license and include any other additional copyright notices for yourself and any of the other themes which you mentioned you copied code from.

I made this project from zero bases. Not forked from your project. I don't mind mentioning the code I referenced, but I created this project from scratch and I own it, and I think my name should be in the license and not others.

It does not matter if you copied code from other themes by forking or by other methods.

What matters is that you properly attribute all the code that you copied and include the copyright notices of those themes. If you need clarification of the MIT license, then you can seek legal advice.

I'll delete all the parts that are related to the Academic theme. Then, everything should be fine? Actually, I just copied one piece of your code. I can delete it easily.
What you are originally saying is that I have to include your name in my project license and the Hugo theme site because I copied small pieces of code. That makes none sense for me.

Why is it so difficult to revert the defacement to the license

Because I have spent tones of time to make this theme from zero bases.

@gcushen Can you point me to the portions of code that should I fix? I don't want to have any trouble with this. I will edit all the code you pointed out if that is from your theme. So, is that fine now?
Please tell me where is the copied code.
I just referenced the part that loading a file with the printf function, which is one way of doing something in Hugo. I don't think you can say that I copied your code. This printf function is the way Hugo provides for us.

You insist that I copied/derived your theme. So, where is the copied, derived code?
If you can't point me out, why are you keep asking for it? I said that I made this project from scratch.

@gcushen There is no more code left that I copied from your theme. If you find anything that from your code, just tell me. I'll remove it from my theme. thanks
