g7-7588-hackintosh's Issues

Wifi and audio not working for me

Hi dear can you help me please. I got issue after installation I can not enable wifi and can not play sound.
If you kind please help support me.

HDMI

Does the HDMI port work?

Hibernation with hibernatemode = 25

Seems like with my current EFI, the hibernate mode works well with value 25, which means it can maximize battery runtime, but it does so by taking longer to enter hibernation mode and to wake up. If you want to try, run this command in Terminal:

sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 25

Feel free to give feedback if you have any issues

help me, my bluetooth is not working

Hello, I successfully installed using your GitHub repository, but my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not working.

So I put the files in the Intel 9560 ACPI folder into the ACPI folder in EFI.And I downloaded "AirportItlwm_v2.1.0_stable_Monterey" and put it in the kext folder.

After reboot, my Wi-Fi can work, but the bluetooth does not work. How can I make the bluetooth work normally?

thanks.

Is macOS 11 Big Sur supported?

Is MacOS 11 Big Sur supported?

When booting macOS 11, it stucks on Apple's logo without progress bar.

Using OpenCore EFI from this Repo.

After changing to clover bootloader from image, it booted successfully.

Thank you.

"Important Battery Message", Headphones output (3.5mm) and Thunderbolt 3/USB-C Hotplug

Hi, everybody!

First of all, I would like to thank @tarutaru9250 for making this EFI so easy to use. In my first adventure as hackintosher, I managed to install macOS Monterrey on my Dell G7 7588 and almost everything is working as expected =)

I would like to ask help to solve a few details, if possible:

  1. First, my battery manager is showing me the following warning: "The battery's capacity is significantly reduced. To restore capacity, please check your service options".

Is there a way to deactivate or fix this message? My battery is actually working as expected, I can use it for hours with my hackintosh and also with my Windows 11 (installed on my secondary SSD). My BIOS also shows that my battery health is good enough (99%).

  1. I ran the post-install ALCPlugFix-Swift command as detailed in the tutorial but my headphones output (3.5mm) is still buzzing. I use an audio interface to work and this is not a really necessary thing for me to fix, but is there a way to make it work as expected?

  2. I can see in the changelog (https://github.com/tarutaru9250/g7-7588-hackintosh/blob/main/Changelog.md) that there's a fix for Thunderbolt 3/USB-C hotplug function, but this was dropped since the June 2021 EFI update. Is there a way for me to use this hotplug fix? I use a TB3 DSP Accelerator and I always forgot to turn it on before booting my hackintosh, so I always need to restart my computer to make my TB3 fully loaded on my hackintosh. This hotplug fix would be a life saver for me =D

Thanks in advance and I've learned a lot about hackintoshing with you @tarutaru9250!

BIOS Setting for Windows 11

Hi guys, first at all, I want to say Happy Lunar New Year to everyone. Hope you guys will have a great year.
In Lunar New Year holiday, I have tried to test "the default" BIOS setting for Windows 11 and macOS. And currently is my result:

BIOS is the latest version 1.19.0. After update, restore BIOS setting to BIOS Default.

  1. UEFI Boot Path Security: Disable.
  • Just no security for using USB boot or external HDD boot.
  1. PTT Security: Enable.
  • Enable TPM for Windows 11. Currently no issue on macOS.
  1. Intel SGX: Enable.
  • Enable Intel Software Guard Extension. Needed for Goodix Fingerprint. Currently no issue on macOS, even sleep.
  1. Vt-d: Disable.
  • Why I disabled this option? Because Microsoft has changed some interesting things on Windows 11 with Virtualization-Based Security. It has more features and more protections than Windows 10. It also blocks reading-writing 0x150 Model Specific Register (MSR) if Vt-d is Enabled. That's why on Windows I can't undervolt the CPU if Vt-d and Core Isolation are enabled. It will reduce performance a little and increase the heat.

Please give me more results if you have any issue with those settings. They may also can be applied on some Dell laptop machines from CoffeeLake and newer.

Thank you so much for testing!
