ethereum-prometheus-exporter's Issues

eth_block_timestamp error

  • error collecting metric Desc{fqName: "parity_net_active_peers", help: "number of active peers", constLabels: {}, variableLabels: []}: the method parity_netPeers does not exist/is not available
  • error collecting metric Desc{fqName: "parity_net_connected_peers", help: "number of peers currently connected to this client", constLabels: {}, variableLabels: []}: the method parity_netPeers does not exist/is not available
  • error collecting metric Desc{fqName: "eth_block_timestamp", help: "timestamp of the most recent block", constLabels: {}, variableLabels: []}: invalid argument 1: json: cannot unmarshal number into Go value of type bool
    2022/08/29 12:57:47 error gathering metrics: 3 error(s) occurred:

Program can't print its own version

I tried to get ethereum_exporter to print its version (so I know which one I'm currently using), but ethereum_exporter --version sadly isn't implemented.

Exporter fails to fetch some of the metrics

Using the latest docker image of the exporter (31z4/ethereum-prometheus-exporter:v1.1.0) and a recent Parity Node Image (v2.7.2-stable) the following errors are shown.

2020/07/06 14:07:24 error gathering metrics: 3 error(s) occurred:
* error collecting metric Desc{fqName: "eth_sync_starting", help: "the block at which the import started", constLabels: {}, variableLabels: []}: not syncing
* error collecting metric Desc{fqName: "eth_sync_current", help: "the number of most recent block", constLabels: {}, variableLabels: []}: not syncing
* error collecting metric Desc{fqName: "eth_sync_highest", help: "the estimated highest block", constLabels: {}, variableLabels: []}: not syncing

As result the corresponding metrics are not fetched. Do you know if those metrics are still available maybe through a new name?
