getopt works, but it's a bit clunky as an API and optional arguments have to come before the positional arguments. Furthermore, I'm currently blindly assuming that all the positional arguments are input files but that's a sidenote.
Consider moving to argparse.

Since -o takes one input for the name of the image to be saved, it does not support multiple input files and all except the last graph will be overwritten.
Possible fixes:

• match the number of arguments of -o to the number of input files and save each one as defined
• have one input name, but add a suffix for each graph - this may require hard-coding the image format
• (best): format all plots in same plt.figure() by using subplots. Subplots should be used anyway; I've just been lazy so far.
