Dominant Frequency not correct when hitting the cylinder

Python 2.7 is installed and the Python GUI can run.
The adafruit sample code spectrum.ino was loaded and I have verified that a tone generated by my phone creates a dominant frequency at approximately the correct space.

i have verified a tone works with the code generated by my phone
I do not have a cylinder or solenoid to verify that setup

We should try to figure out if it is a timing issue. The 1024 point FFT does seem to take a while to run.
Remove the solenoid from hitting the cylinder and strike the cylinder with a sprinkler repeatedly and decently hard for a duration of the test. If we can generate the right natural frequency with this test it points to more of a timing issue with sampling.
