Track user activity

We need to track the user activity, to learn what they do and how frequently. We can customise the messages on the platform accordingly.

Events like:

  • add family member
  • invite family member
  • add to trusted network
  • remind members in trusted network
  • search for FB profile
  • read more tips by clicking on next/previous tip
  • etc...

Copy /dashboards/my_family

On the dashboard, we need to add text explaining the three sections on the page; My Family, Extended Network, marriage prospects.

All the paras should setup an expectation about what they will find after clicking on the link and why should they do it.

Capture first family member's phone number

When a person creates a family, capture that person's phone number to get in touch with him/her.

This cannot be done for every user, but we can try with the user who creates the family for the first time. This will get assigned to the user in the DB.

Introduction/Invite copy

Prepare copy for the mail & sms that Mrs. Patwardhan will be sending out to all her customers.

I think it will need some design, but we have to take that call only after we have know the copy.

Default Family

Currently, there is no guarantee (at least I haven't written anything) that a same family will be shown to the user on multiple logins. Hopefully, the first family-member relationship will be chosen, but we need to do something about it.

Figure out a way to define default family or have a way switch between families from UI.

Copy /prospects

This is the prospects index page, where all prospects are shown on the left hand side.

  • If there are no prospects, we need to tell them to create one.
  • If there are prospects, we can tell them:
    • How search and connect process work
    • How number of people in the network affects the results
    • Why they should create as many prospects as possible here (?)

Train user to search for the prospect's FB profile

Create a video and push it on the blog or on one of the inner page, which describes how to search for someone on facebook.

This will help us make users more comfortable with what we are asking them to do.

Flow for people who have been invited into extended networks

  • A family should be named after the first person who creates that family.
  • On login, check if the person is part of an extended network. If so, show him such a message and ask if there is anyone in his family for whom he wants to setup a dashboard of his own.
  • If he says no, just take him to a page that shows him how many extended networks he is part of.
  • If he says yes, take him through the regular flow.

The person should realise how he is helping others and what's the value addition.

Tips: Extended Network

Tips telling the user why to invite as many people as possible to his network. The more number of people it has in the network:

  • more the possibility of finding good connections with the prospects

Tips: My Family Page

Tips about how to use this page and why to add people to this page. People who are part of the family:

  • can add prospects
  • can comment on them
  • can add connections to the extended network

Copy prospect search waiting message

Waiting message telling user that searching for that person will take us a while and we will be in touch with the contact person of the family.

Terms and conditions

We need to set terms and conditions before we release as per FB policy.

Also, we need to make sure that we retain the right to all the information that user is providing to the platform.

Prospects Dashboard

  • see all prospects
  • ability to create & edit prospect information
  • ability to give in a FB url for the prospect, which will allow the admin to create the user and assign that user to the prospect.
  • allow user to put notes, that he can use to store shaadi.com url or stuff like that.
  • edit description

Implement Family Dashboard

  • see who all are part of the family
  • see who have accepted the invitation and are on the platform
  • send invitation to all non-user family members

Copy /dashboards/other_families

This is where we list all the families that he is touching by just being on the platform. These are not the families that he is part of.

  • We need to tell him that he is doing a great favour to the community by being here; as this is the page on which users who have only extended networks land on.
  • Second part is; we need to ask them to create a marriage dashboard of their own if they have someone in the family that is evaluating prospects.

Ability to invite a prospect over email.

As people may not be able to invite/search people on facebook, they most likely will have at least have an email address. Especially in the later stages of talks.

Copy /onboarding/prospects

The prospect creation page is where we tell them to add one of the prospects they are considering. They can skip if there is none.

Need to tell them, that we show them common friends and family of this prospect after they add it to the system.

Copy /onboarding/family

This copy will be on the invite family members page, to convince the user why he/she should invite the family members.

Copy prospect search completed message

Two copies for:

  • search completed but no common connections found
    • invite the other party
    • and invite more people to join your network
  • search completed and found few common connections
    • invite more people to find more connections
    • get other family members of the other family to join the platform

Implement Extended Network Dashboard

*see all who are part of the network

  • see who all have joined
  • send invitation to all those who haven't joined on FB
  • send email invitations to those who haven't joined
  • see how large my network is through all the people in my extended network

Setup user activity tracking

Setup user activity tracking using either of Google Analytics, MixPanel or KissMetrics. We care about:

  • Where users are dropping off
  • Which part of the application they are most interested in
  • What parts of the application they get wrong (errors, retries etc)
  • What is response rate of the FB invites

Create a glossary for TrustedRishta & apply it

The overall nomenclature within the application is not absolutely clear. Need to create that nomenclature and reflect it at least in all the user facing titles and messages.

If not done as part of this story, create another story to change the code to reflect that nomenclature.

Copy /prospects/edit

Text explaining how we search for that person and what all information we will need to search him successfully. Explaining that they will get the connections only after we are able to search him on facebook.
