portfolio2.0's Issues

Heading Links

Because react-markdown does not parse heading anchors, I'm getting "target source does not exist" errors for my table of contents links and they do not work. I tried a handful of solutions, and there are more listed in the issues, including remark and rehype plugins that are deprecated or involve installing multiple plugins like https://github.com/remarkjs/remark-toc

Labels on Hover and Focus and Visually Hidden Class

After my Accessibility Auditing My Portfolio Site blog series, I would like to create another, nice-looking visual indicator that my links open a new tab.

  • external link visual indicator that looks nicer than icon?
    • links attached to the Github and Chrome SVGs
    • all links for keyboard and unassisted users that don't know what the external icon link means.
  • a label that appears on focus/hover for my dark mode toggle for cognitively impaired users.
  • hiding the label text in the dark mode toggle (would an aria-label be better?)
  • visually hidden <h1> page title on main and blog pages

DEV API update

  • Update code pulling DEV blogs for pagination and cover images

Add text to all links

  • could use a visually hidden class so it still looks like the Github logo is the only thing there, for instance
