Contributing

IMPORTANT

This repo does NOT contain all the files required to build RedHomestead. Install Blender first before opening the project folder in Unity, and you'll need to import packages and asset store assets.

Standard Asset packages

Standard Assets are not included in this repository, and will need to be imported on each machine that intends to build from the source. The following packages are used:

  1. Characters
  2. ParticleSystems
  3. Vehicles
  4. Post Processing Stack

Standard Assets are installed from Assets > Import Package

Assets from Asset Store

The following assets will need to be added from the Asset store, since they are not source controlled:

  1. Scifi Crate
  2. Yughues Free Stylized Foliages
  3. Post Processing Stack
  4. Legacy Image Effects

Blender

Most models are native .blend files, and have not been exported to FBX (yet). In order for Unity to render them, Blender must be installed. If you open Unity before installing Blender, each model needs to be reimported.

Load game issues

  • Inner airlock doors closed when starting inside hab
  • Time/date is not correctly deserialized
  • Airlock not pressurized when starting inside hab, but air doesn't run out.
  • En Route deliveries disappear on reloading

Add sleep mechanic

Turns out Time.timeScale makes it suuuper easy to do this: just have the player lerp into a bed with the camera on a clock with three input states: speed up, slow down, and exit bed/wake up.

The clock should be red/orange and have a seven segment font for maximum awesomeness.

Add Temperature gauge

When cold, +100% power usage in suit, when warm, -50% power usage in suit

Possibly in hab as well?

Blueprints state bugs

Blueprints are staying up when pressing Tab or Escape should close it. Additionally, closing it should delete all visualizations. Additionally, the indoors blueprints should probably also be deprecated for now
