I considered adding units to cookware so that e.g.- #saucepan{6%inch} could be programmatically switched to metric and also adding predefined alternatives e.g.- #saucepan{6%inch|small} as is implemented in the Temperature spec. The pipe could also be used for the awkward cases like rectangle pans where #pan{9x13%inch} would require additional parsing.

I decided not to because this may break other people's parser: if they regex parse full strings then this is unlikely but if they parse token-by-token then this would break it.

Even so I'm leaving this issue open to collect opinions and may include this syntax extension in the future if there's enough support for it.
