Updated protocol document?

Hello! I was wondering if you knew of any changes or updates to the IOS protocol? We notice that since IOS17 there seems to be a different way the apple devices are interacting with the Airtags. Wondering if you noticed this as well?

Apple AirTag Reverse Engineering: Seeking some input on question related to your article

Hi Adam!

Sorry for contacting you here, but i could not locate your email. Feel free to close this issue if you are not interested in answering this.

Stumbled over your article very recently while doing some light research. Figured i would try to contact a expert on the matter to perhaps get a simple answer.

In short, i am trying to find out if it would be possible to extend the AirTag's range by somehow attaching an auxiliary antenna.

The cycling community has grown fond of these small trackers and are trying to find smart ways to conceal them on their very expensive bikes. These bikes are often made of carbon fiber, so placing the tracker inside the frame will dramatically decrease its range, which is not ideal.

Ive written a small post on reddit if you are interested.

Hope to hear from you!

Thanks,
Herman

Not an issue but a question.

Great hacking on these Air tags. I started looking around for Air tag related repos to see if I could somehow activate one without an Apple device (I have none to activate it with). Is this anything you've investigated? Thank you.

Reach connected state whit non-IOS (apple) device

How does the airtag/find-my device determine if it's in reach of its owner. I own a pair of Airpods and use it with my Android device. My problem is that if I don't take my iPad with me, friends and strangers get alerted of Airpods following them. Would it be possible to spoof the Bluetooth Mac address of a paired apple device to prevent this behavior?
