experience-manager-65.en's Issues

Wrong diagram pictures

Issue in help/sites-developing/the-basics.md

Diagram pictures in "Introduction to Sling" section seems to be wrong, showing Coral UI rather than sling processing.

Missing tag

Issue in help/sites-administering/campaignstandard.md, it seems like there is a missing !UICONTROL or bold tag here: From the authoring instance, select AEM logo > **Tools **icon > Deployment > Replication > Agents on author , then click Default Agent .

Update OSGi Tools link reference

Issue in help/sites-deploying/osgi-configuration-settings.md

In the Note stating "The AEM OSGi Config Details tool can be used to list the default OSGi configurations." -- please update the link to point to [1]. The current link is no longer maintained and we have ingested the items to our helpx documents.

Update Technical Requirement page to add more details about windows server

Issue in help/sites-deploying/technical-requirements.md

Under the "Server Operating Systems", Details about windows operating system is not very clear. We had a support case(205243) where AEM was not working intermittently on Windows 2019.

In my opinion, we need to add a note(After confirming with Engineering team):

Running AEM on windows is not fully tested and might not work properly.

Metadata import requires explicit format of datetimestamp

Issue in help/assets/metadata-import-export.md

Metadata import requires explicit format of datetimestamp

customers should use the format
YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss.fff-00:00

YYYY is year
MM is month in 2 digit format
DD is day in 2 digit format
T is seperating date and time
hh is hour in 24hour military format
mm is minute
ss is seconds
fff is nanoseconds
-00:00 is timezone offset

EXAMPLE:
2020-03-26T11:26:00.000-07:00

  • This is PST datetime for March 26 2020 at 11:26:00.000 AM PST

AEM 6.5 3D file handling

I can't find any details how to set up my AEM 6.5 instance in order to handle 3D files.

I find informations on file managed (OBJ, STL, GLB, GLTF) but nothing on how to configure DAM update Asset workflow or any other sub-system in AEM.

Many Thanks

If this place is not the right one thanks to forward my message

None of the images on this page appear to be correct for this page.

Publishing Tags details should be updated

Issue in help/sites-administering/tags.md

Document does not mention that Asset Publishing will also publish Tag reference changes
e.g. Asset has a new tag, publishing this asset will publish the new tag as well
Author has deleted a tag, Asset (with reference to deleted tag) should also trigger Publish to delete the referenced tag

See Adobe internal JIRAs : CQ-4269305,NPR-31180 -- the title is not exactly what is expected, however, I have tested on 6.5.3.0 vanilla author and publish and could confirm the Tag reference was updated -- see Daycare ticket https://daycare.day.com/home/microsoftcorporation/microsoftcorporation_us/managedservicessites/206768.html

Installing VLT Tool - Step 1 - Can't download FileVault Archive

Issue in help/sites-developing/ht-vlttool.md

Step 1 says "Download the FileVault archive file from the Apache Jackrabbit web site.". Unfortunately, the FileVault archive file is not available on the linked Apache Jackrabbit downloads page. Only the source code .zip is currently available.

It looks like Step 3 assumes an archive that is not the source code but rather a binary release. It does not appear to be available on the linked page.

Unfortunately, this makes the vlt tool unavailable to anyone who can't compile the source. I've tried, but there are errors in the unit tests and even skipping the unit tests, the project does not seen to create an executable jar file.

Assets HTTP API - clarification on dc: namespace metadata update

Issue in help/assets/mac-api-assets.md
The article needs clarification for "Update Asset metadata"
The sample request intended to update dc:title but it's actually updating jcr:title. It's expected behavior and we need to explicitly mention, that the API does not sync dc:title and jcr:title properties. The same behavior is for any properties under dc: namespace. It's possible to sync dc: and jcr: properties by employing a workflow with an ECMA script.

Improper format of URL

Issue in help/sites-deploying/tarmk-cold-standby.md

See the URL in step #3 for 'Cold Standby Repository Maintenance' (https://docs.adobe.com/content/help/en/experience-manager-65/deploying/deploying/tarmk-cold-standby.html#cold-standby-repository-maintenance)
Run the oak compaction tool on the primary instance. For more details, see #(/help/sites-deploying/storage-elements-in-aem-6.md#maintaining the repository).

It should be an actual URL for users to click and navigate to.

List limitation of Cold Standby wrt UI accessible

Issue in help/sites-deploying/tarmk-cold-standby.md

There should be a specific mention regarding all the pages that you can access when logging into the Coldstandby instance -- e.g. OSGi consoles are accessible

Customers attempt to access other UIs and are confused as to why they are 'not working'.

Determining the correct upgrade start command

Issue in help/sites-deploying/in-place-upgrade.md

In section "Determining the correct upgrade start command" it says:
Modify the command by replacing the path to the existing jar ( crx-quickstart/app/aem-quickstart*.jar in this case) with the new jar that is a sibling of the crx-quickstart folder.

The problem is that the CLI parameter c has a different meaning for the app/aem-quickstart*.jar than for the main jar. For the former it is specifying the sling.home = crx-quickstart folder (https://sling.apache.org/documentation/the-sling-engine/the-sling-launchpad.html#command-line-options), while for the latter it is the HTTP Servlet Context Path (https://docs.adobe.com/content/help/en/experience-manager-65/deploying/deploying/custom-standalone-install.html#further-options-available-from-the-quickstart-file). If you take over parameter -c crx-quickstart, AEM will start with the HTTP Servlet Context Path crx-quickstart.

9. Unique Sling ID - browse to https://

In point 9. Unique Sling ID, the browse to https:// should be something like this:

The Search section is overlapped by the Security and User Interface sections making the content difficult to read

Also, the Search right hand menu option is not working

Not certain if he Search section should be a literal search bar -- however, that is the content displaying in the document body (suspecting this is not correct content to be displayed)

Translation updates in 6.4 and above

Issue in help/sites-administering/tc-tic.md

The screenshot under the "Creating a Translation Integration Configuration" is outdated and no longer supported.

Also, we need to add the following note:

To align with Context-Aware Configuration [1], we have switched to context selection for Translation Configuration and Translation Credential configuration. This would mean that a user would not select these configurations directly and instead select appropriate contexts. As an example, the same available in sites/XF/screens in Properties page via Advanced Tab > Cloud Configuration.

A translation user would be able to create only one config of each type in a context. In the case of context, the selection is currently not available he/she would be able to create config in fallback path(/conf/global). This means, he would be able to create only one TIF (used for translation settings), for example, one Microsoft config, one lingotek config etc. In case users need multiple configs, one would have to add the configuration browser.

This change was done in 6.4 as part of the repository restructuring.

Missing steps, document needs cleaning

Issue in help/sites-administering/cug.md

The section "Applying Your Closed User Group To Content Pages" is a mess. It is missing steps and tells you to save when you should not. It refers to items on different tabs without telling you to go to that tab first. It refers to 'Realms'. What Realms? There are none on the properties page.

Suggestion to include the word "AEM" after the word "allows"

Issue in help/sites-administering/encapsulated-token.md

"The Encapsulated Token is a piece of cryptography that allows to securely create and validate authentication information offline" is missing a subject for the word "allows". My suggestion is to add "AEM" after "allows".

It should be like:
"The Encapsulated Token is a piece of cryptography that allows AEM to securely create and validate authentication information offline"

Insufficient database information provided in Step 1: Set up the database

Issue in help/forms/using/create-form-data-model0.md

I'm attempting to work through the tutorial "Tutorial: Create your First Interactive Communication," and I've already become stymied in "Tutorial: Create form data model." While I'm told to set up a mysql schema (database) and fill it with sample data, very little information is given about the database to be set up.

Ideally, a setup script should be provided that can be run against a local MySQL server as root, but as a temporary measure, users should at least see a database diagram where none of the column names are truncated and information about the type of data that must be hand-created for each column is provided.

Perhaps there's a master collection of sample database setup instructions for all these AEM forms tutorials somewhere, and a link just needs to be provided to it?

Thank you.

Unwanted link in features column

Issue in help/sites-developing/workflows-program-interaction.md

Go to the section "Using the Workflow Java API", there is a table of features and objects.

In the features column, there is a text "WorkflowStatus.html" which has link to workflow status. I think someone added this text by mistake.

Even if it is intentional, it should be without .html.

Same issue in 6.4 doc as well.

Export to target without clientlibs references should be documented

Issue in help/sites-administering/experience-fragments-target.md

Export of experience fragment to Target OOTB publishes the fragment with all the CSS/JS references. If the XF is used on the same site in the target activity, it often causes issues as the CSS/JS gets included twice. The tribal knowledge to handle this is to overlay the following HTL scripts to remove the clientlib references.

/libs/cq/experience-fragments/components/xfpage/head.nocloudconfigs.html
/ibs/cq/experience-fragments/components/xfpage/body.nocloudconfigs.html

It will be helpful if this is documented officially.
