statecampuses's Introduction

state-campuses

Scripting

The state campus data comes as a collection of geodatabases. To work with dynamic workspaces, they need to be merged into one geodatabase. This is our opportunity to reproject into web mercator as well.

From the arcgis pro environment,

python state-campus.py merge-from <parent-state-campus-gdb-folder> to <statecampus.gdb>

This command will read all of the gdb files and reproject them into the output gdb.

If there are duplicate file names, they will need to be renamed. This should be the only cause for error when running this command.

To create the drop down list of facilities run the following command,

python stater-campus.py list-folders <parent-status-campus-folder>

This array can be copy pasted to the config.js facilities property.

To create the mapping that is necessary to drive the drop down list, the extent zooming and layers related to each facility, run the following command,

python state-campus.py create-map <the-merged-gdb-location> to <project-_src-map.json>

statecampuses's Issues

Alphabetize the TOC

Alphabetize the TOC. it just makes it easier to find things to turn on or off

Permissions

Freedom! The app needs no security, can it just be moved to a public app in AGOL?

Weber Campus - Numerous Lines look the same

Steve, I think we need to review the Weber data together and see why it looks like such a mess, did they offset each pipe that went to the same place? Are they duplicates? Maybe we need to go back to the campus data provider and have them inspect the data they created a little closer

Scale dependent rendering

Layers should not be visible until level 12 or 13.

Points should get a smaller size up to level 17

UVU Campus Gas line

The UVU Campus has a gas line represented off in Utah Lake, we need to remove it

Underground structures

Purple dots that are marked as Underground Structures...we don't know what these are but they can remain if they are part of the delivered data, however when you do an identify, no information is shown. We just need to understand a bit more, they may just be trash

Capitol is misspelled

In the drop down list of campuses, it says "Utah State Captiol" it should say "Utah State Capitol"

Fairpark data

The fairpark data seems to not be drawing, initial reports was that it was drawing intermittently, When I saw it being attempted, the Fairpark data did not draw

Domain Smooshing

All of the geodatabases that make up the state campuses are named similarly or the same and when exported from their source into the destination, the geodatabase domain is also transferred but last import wins and domain values are then looked up with incorrect values. ETL the domain data away from codes.

In the mean time the owner can be updated to display Campus

Remove Tunnel Centerlines

The centerline of the tunnel doesn't really serve a purpose and is just cluttering things. Can it be not drawn and also not be an option in the TOC

Feature class alias names

When importing feature classes preserve the alias name some way so that it can be displayed in the web app.
