A general overview of Unix terminal: how it works, simple commands you can give it etc.

While the astropy documentation is great, its also very dense. One of the first examples on this wiki should be a FITS and basic astropy example, probably with some basic plotting and numpy analysis.

Covering the basic syntax of a LaTeX file, detailing the use of the language and example documents. LaTeX creates beautiful documents that look professional and smart.

Ok, basically this needs to be an astropy.units tutorial. So, so powerful. Probably in the Working with Fits Files folder?

This might well be a big topic, but the Wiki needs some examples of plotting images, particularly astro images. I can foresee several examples:

• Basic image plotting, with colour bars, axis labels, standard matplotlib stuff. This exists on the matplotlib documentation, but an astro context would be fantastic
• A gridspec tutorial. The matplotlib one is awful.
• A WCSAxes tutorial. My word is this module good! It should be the go-to for astro image plotting
• Add scalebar and compass example to WCSAxes example
• AplPy? I know its controversial, but its also very easy to use for new people to get a first look.
• Colour maps? Basic ones, cmocean ones, seaborne ones?

If you want to tackle any of these, please say. A jupyter notebook on each, probably all in a folder, would be really good.
