GetFilePathName will alway return current file with selected extention. its made for save new file. (so write file from field)
because you can also select many file and you will obtain "4 selected files.*" returned by GetFilePathName()
i you want to get selection, you will have to use GetSelection() method
i made that like that, because i defined no way for distinguish save dialog behavior tnat open dialog behavior.
you must adapt the return corresponding to your use
