Keeping audio stream setting

*.mkv files with multiple audio streams - does not keep selected/changed audio stream setting, when switching to next file in same folder.

Уже давно заметил эту проблему, и ее до сих пор не исправляют. У видео-файлов, внутри которых нету звуковых дорожек, при проигрывании не отображается превью (когда наводишь мышкой на полосу прокрутки/времени), что довольно неудобно, даже если есть подключенный внешний звук (при встроенном звуке таких проблем нет). В том же mpc-hc такой проблемы нет (но там нет некоторых возможностей). Хотелось бы иметь превью и без встроенного звука, все же превью для видео, а не для звука :З

I have long noticed this problem, and it is still not corrected. Video files, inside which no sound paths do not, when playing, does not display a preview (when you point a scroll/time with a mouse), which is quite inconvenient, even if there is an external sound connected (there are no such problems with a built-in sound). In the same MPC-HC there is no such problem (but there are no some opportunities). I would like to have a preview and without built -in sound, still a preview for video, and not for sound :3

'View > Information' does nothing?

When I press Ctrl+3, or tick View > Information in the menu bar, there's no change to the interface. Where am I meant to be seeing this information?

HEVC 1080p 50fps 10bit video frame drop [SW Decoding], when HW not supported

Tested on both MPCBE and HC, and both EVRCP and MPCVR. All are latest stable version.
I was just testing a random file then found this.

Video was playing in software decoding mode because HW decoding not supported on my laptop for 4K HEVC. But that is not a problem. VLC is playing same video smoothly at 50 fps. MPC giving 10-15 fps.

I am shocked how VLC is able to play 4K video that even in SW mode smoothly? Is there any disadvantage of DirectShow video players or bug?

unable to load internal or external subtitles (greyed out entirely)

I have an .mkv file which contains internal subtitles that are not being loaded, and the "Load Subtitle" option is greyed out entirely.

I can provide more media information as needed.

It works fine in MPC-HC with madVR, by comparison, or in SubtitleEdit which is also able to extract any of the subtitle tracks, so I know the media file isn't entirely the problem.

Custom jump x ms settings do not seem to work/apply correctly

Hi, i've set the arrow keys to control jumping back and forward at a small interval in the key settings, then set the small jump to be 3000 ms in the miscelaneous settings, but even having restarted the app and rebooted my pc and whatever the player instead jumps 10 seconds forwards/backwards when i press the keys.

MPC-BE 1.6.4 .m3u problem

MPC-BE 1.6.4 gave "file not found" error with .m3u playlists that worked with earlier versions. Downgrading to 1.6.3 fixed issue.

SSA subtitle support issues

It was confirmed by looking at the Koneko Fansub subtitles (ASS), but the following form of cover was not applied in the MPC-BE internal subtitle renderer.

A way to save retimed subtitles

It would be very convenient to have an option automatically save/overwrite the subtitle file after delaying the subtitles (with subtitle delay) so that you don't have to delay the subs every time you watch that specific movie/show.

Проблемы со звуком в .aac (неправильное время и рассинхрон)(нет решения?) / Problems with sound in .aac (wrong time and out of sync)

Не уверен есть ли смысл об этом писать здесь, но все же напишу заодно на всякий.
Есть проблемы с чтением звука в .aac формате - неправильно рассчитывается время(как правило больше, чем есть на самом деле)(а еще при проверке обнаружил у некоторых .aac при проигрывании скачет общее время О_о) и как следствие рассинхрон с видео (если звук внешний)(при этом у видео также увеличивается продолжительность). Если перепаковать в .mka то проблем нет, нигде.
Проблема не новая и в том же mpc-hc уже давно такое и наблюдается до сих пор (хотя не на всех файлах, причем рассинхрона с видео нет). На разных файлах по разному, поэтому не могу утверждать что на всех так, но раз есть на одних знчт есть и будет на других, да и проблема не редкая. Не знаю с чем это точно связано, мб потому что в .aac не прописывается четко время, мб потому что просто проигрыватели не могут корректно читать в таком формате. Предполагаю что в mpc-hc при этом рассинхрона с видео нет, потому что берется время видео и под него как то подстраивается звук..

Запуск мультимедиа файлов из меню «Закладки»

Прошу разработчиков внести небольшое изменение в поведение механизма запуска мультимедиа файлов из меню «Закладки».

Не понимаю почему до сих пор происходит стирание основного списка воспроизведения при открытии мультимедиа файлов из меню «Закладки» в том случае, если запускаемый файл отсутствует в списке. Разве это удобно?

Логичное и удобное поведение может выглядеть следующим образом:

При открытии мультимедиа файла из меню «Закладки» новый пункт добавляется в конец не пустого основного списка воспроизведения в случае, если запускаемый файл отсутствует в списке.

The option "Position subtitles relative to the video frame" has no effect on rasterized subtitles anymore.

The problem was introduced between "1.6.2.7083_git2022.05.11-b2f7d82c0" and "1.6.2.7087_git2022.05.11-ee26d6097". ("1.6.2.7083_git2022.05.11-b2f7d82c0" working well but "1.6.2.7087_git2022.05.11-ee26d6097" and beyond are not).

Unchecking the option "Position subtitles relative to the video frame" has no effect on rasterized subtitles anymore, (but it still takes effect on text-based subs though), meaning subtitles are always rendered relative to the frame buffer rather than the viewport and thus will be rendered off screen if I move or scale the frame.

Before "1.6.2.7087_git2022.05.11-ee26d6097", it always worked as intended (The latest working version is "1.6.2.7083_git2022.05.11-b2f7d82c0".

Нет превью у x265(hevc) без встроенного звука 2 (проблема не решена)

Мне создается впечатление что закрыли темы и в них больше не смотрят, ибо ответов-решений проблем я так и не увидел. От того что вы закрыли темы проблемы не решатся и не исчезнут, если они возникли у меня, также могут возникнуть и у др. А как еще по др до вас достучаться, куда еще писать я не знаю.
Итак я глубже еще раз все что смог перепроверил. Никак не удается заставить показывать превью у x265, если нет внутри звука, менял настройки разные, сбрасывал настройки на стандарт (по умолч), ставил отдельно чистую копию(с отдельными настройками в папке), портативная или установленная один фиг, переустановил новый K-Lite Codec Pack. Бесполезно. Проверил на ноуте, win7, тоже есть кодек пак (более старый правда), настройки mpc-be стартовые "из коробки", ии... превью там действительно работает... чоо?? А поч у меня не работает тогда, не понимаю, чо за чертовщина? Видимо какой то баг, что-то ему не нравится, а что не понятно, причем со звуком работает все, и в том же mpc-hc работает(даже без звука), вот чо за фигня а? бред какой то.. По идее прога(как и любая) должна работать из коробки, а если что то не работает, знчт проблема/конфликт/баг в самой проге, тем более если все условия/треб, если они есть, для работы проги выполнены. Я не разраб, я не знаю как это решить/исправить. И если что, комп на Win10 x64 (версия этого года).

[Q&A] Set SDH subtitle as Default

I know the options to set the subtitle language as default to the Options > Playback > Subtitles box (example: eng en en-US english 英語).

I don't know what is the short form for the English SDH to input them in the option.

Please let me know what is that?

Dark scenes flicker

I’ve got version 1.6.3, default settings. Usually it’s working perfectly, but on pitch dark scenes I see brightness flashing with no idea why it’s happening. Default windows 10 player works normal, only BE has this issue. Take a look:

Is this the right scale for PGS? And the PGS color in MadVR.

  • 1st:
    The PGS in this video is rendered significantly larger than all other players and what it is on MPC-BE before 6f3b27b (tested on 1.6.2.7083 with "Position subtitles relative to the video frame" checked, so it's rendered on the video on that version, right?). Maybe because you swap the scale factor from scaleX = scaleY = videoAR < subtitleAR ? double(szTarget.cx) / m_virtualTextureSize.cx : double(szTarget.cy) / m_virtualTextureSize.cy; to something more or less equivalent to scaleX = scaleY = videoAR < subtitleAR ? double(szTarget.cy) / m_virtualTextureSize.cy : double(szTarget.cx) / m_virtualTextureSize.cx; to always get the larger one as the scaling factor while the old logic always get the smaller one?
    Was this done on purpose?

    Please check the color of the subtitle in MadVR. The color of PGS subs is obvious "pale".
    No color space conversion for PGSs and so when using MadVR? Using MPCVR is fine. But other players are also fine in MadVR.

Syncing subtitles while paused

Hey

I want to sync the subtitle with f1 and f2 while the video is paused "trying to sync during live playback is really hard", It's possible in MPC-HC but i wasn't able to do that with MPC-BE.

Is there an option to get it enabled or something like that?

Cannot force some subtitles style

Hi,

After some researches, it seems "Default style" is meant to enforce the default style set in MPC's settings. However I have a file with 5 embedded subtitles. 3 of them can correctly be set to the default style. The other 2 however remain in an ugly yellow+Arial I can't change somehow. Based on the fact the "Styles" submenu in Subtitles advanced options, I also assume it's not a matter of an embedded style ?

Would it be possible to have maybe another option that just outright enforces the default style in all cases, regardless of any extra embedded style or anything like that ?

Edit : I just realized part of the other subtitles, namely the opening's lyrics (it's an anime), have the same issue and have a very artistic vibe to them. I'm starting to wonder if some embedded subtitles are just prerendered in which case if you think that's what the issue tell me and ignore my request. I didn't think it was possible, but I'm second guessing myself and not really up to date with what subtitles can do.

File menu delayed response

First click on file menu takes 2-3 seconds and then opens. This system has HDD.

When tested on different system that system was fine. That has SSD.

I can remember this problem was also there in MPC-HC in past. It was fixed long ago.

Playlist auto-hide full screen align left/right

the playlist should hide itself in full screen
ideally be able to align to other parts of the screen other than bottom
display itself when you move your mouse to it

being able to align to other sides is important for when you have multiple displays.

Некорректное воспроизведение TrueHD аудио в MPC-BE x64 версии 1.6.5+

В MPC-BE x64, начиная с версии 1.6.5, некорректно воспроизводятся видео с аудиодорожкой TrueHD - звук прыгает по каналам с сильными искажениями.

Аудио-рендерер выбран MPC Audio Renderer, первичный звуковой драйвер, с настройками WASAPI Exclusive, Event, 50ms.

Пробовал включать микширование каналов в настройках обработки звука - не помогает.

В версии MPC-BE x64 1.6.4 TrueHD аудио воспроизводится корректно.

Проверял на трёх разных компьютерах - на всех трёх проблема присутствует, включая ПК со свежеустановленной Windows 10 Pro 22H2 19045.2364.

Encode to AC-3 crash

MPC crashes when "Encode to AC-3" is activated and playing through a 5.1 device (HDMI connected to an A/V splitter with optical audio output), when starting playing.

I reset the settings, and found out the crash is due to the "Encode to AC-3" setting (everythong else on default).

This doesn't occur with "Encode to AC-3" active and playing sound through my laptop speakers. Playing through a 5.1 device doesn't crash when "Encode to AC-3" isn't activated.

My goal is to be able to use 5.1 sound with my sound system, only compatible with AC-3 or DTS pass-through. I have to recode AAC, DD+ or DTS-HD files for it to work.
(meanwhile I'm able to do it with ffdshow audio and MPC-HC)

HEVC Green Playback Glitch

I've noticed MPC-BE seems to have issues with some hevc encoded files.

They playback all glitchy and green.

The video player built into windows plays them back fine.

Add option to easily sync subtitle

Add option to delay/advance (increase/decrease) subtitle with few clicks, like "Increase by 5 sec." or "Decrease by 10 sec.". This will be helpful than complicated sync console in MPC and stop from start editing sub in a subtitle editor.

Rotation feature

alt+1 or alt+3 ✈ both are clock and anticlockwise rotation

but in "MPC Cinema" alt+1 = anticlockwise 360° rotation and alt +3 =clock rotation

alt+2 & alt+8 ( flip vertical ) + alt+4 & alt+6 ( flip horizontal ) >>feature provide

HTML tags are applied to SRT subtitles without any problems, but SAMI (smi) subtitles ignore font face and font size, so I want them to be supported in the same format as SRT. SAMI subtitles are subtitles used in Internet Explorer, so they support all HTML supported by the web browser.

It's a Google translation, so I'm not sure if it will be delivered properly, but I hope it's corrected.

Issues with relative paths in 1.6.4 playlists.

For some reason, 1.6.4 doesn't accept relative paths in playlists.

To reproduce, just create a playlist with the .mpcpl in the same folder than the videos or in the root of a subdirectory structure (even edit the playlist to refer as .<subfolder>\video.*).

Rolling back to 1.6.3 fixes the issue.

ASS rendered incorrectly

The no-break space in subtitles is broken when subs use some Chinese fonts on MPC-BE.
This issue was first discovered on MPC-HC, and later I noticed that it also existed on MPC-BE.

[Bug] `on Top` option

The on Top option seems having problem with being persistent with the defined function.

Example: when set the on Top option at While Playing or While Playing Video, sometimes not frequently the defined function gets reset automatically. this issue happened for me in couple of stable versions like 1.6.4 and 1.6.3.

currently, I'm using the nightly version 1.6.4.104, I'm yet see the bug in this, but this bug hasn't been resolved.

v1.6.3 MKV Tearing

Since I've updated to latest version, all Matroshka MKV videos (possible other formats too) are tearing badly while vertical or horizontal movement of the scene very badly.

Had no problems with prev. versions. (That's why I've switched from MCP-HC to BE at the first place!)
Tried to turn on VSync, etc .. but no change.
Win7 pro 32 bit. GPU is on. (ATI)
(No other changes, pc is running since 6 month, all I did was the MCP-BE update.)

Using command line switch /startpos with HEVC causes crash

Hi, first off I'd like to say I really appreciate what a great app you have created and continue to maintain, the effort is really appreciated by me.

Now to the bug, this bug isn't new, it has been around for ages, when using MPC-BE with a HEVC encoded file and the flag /startpos the file is loaded but then MPC-BE becomes unresponsive immediately (crash) and a force close is required, other codecs such as H264 work fine when attempting the same thing. It would be great if you could resolve this. thanks!

Bottom Control panel/ layout not showing in Fullscreen

I installed the latest nightly build 1.6.4.104 and the control layout as I have attached below usually show in Fullscreen mode with Normal Preset. but I can't see the controls in this build.

I can only see the video content, and after I changed to window mode it works as same as always, but this issue is only on the fullscreen mode.
