I just downloaded the Simple TV Launcher. It is great because it is very simple to use. The only issue I am having is the "Set Background Image". Once I select the image, 1920x1080 for example, it is not displaying correctly on my screen. My TV box display mode setting only has 1080p. When I selected it from Gallery it showed properly but on the Launcher, it shows only partial. It seems that it is not scaling according to the screen size.

Someone also commented about the same issue in the Play store.

If you can fix this it would be appreciated. Thank you for your great app.

Trying to create a shortcut to a setting option using Shortcut Creator (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alextern.shortcuthelper&hl=en_US&gl=US), but it says "current launcher doesn't support direct adding of shortcuts". Any ideas/suggestions?

Hello, As the subject line suggests, I'm having trouble finding how to remove a backdrop image I've added. (By the way, this is a great launcher - thank you!) Please forgive my naivete, but I'm very new to using an android box on my tv, still very much in the learning stage (truth be told, I don't know a damn thing about these boxes, but I'm hoping to give my $150. CAN/month cable company the boot). That said, I installed your app, and while "experimenting," I noticed the option to use background image, so I gave it a go but unfortunately picked one of far too low resolution. A simple fix would be, of course, to simply select another, but I imagine there surely must be a way to remove, or go back to default, but I simply can't find anything like that in any settings. I tried uninstall and reinstall, but that doesn't do it either. I don't mean to be of trouble, but your assistance would be very much appreciated, as would any possible direction to usage information sources re the android tv box that may help me learn a thing or two (I am computer & coding literate, by the way, but so far its like I'm in a different world with this little damn thing!). I love Simple TV Launcher and it's exactly what I want, but unfortunately for some reason it cannot see any apps except the ones that are preinstalled on the ROM (at least that's how it seems).

Anything else I install from an APK or Google Play Store or e.g PureAPK is simply not there. Why is that? How can I fix that?

All the apps are working fine on any other launcher I tested.

I second that lock feature!:) I made box for grandma and she always accidentally screw icons. I say check box in setting to lock icons is such a good idea! I made box for grandma and she always accidentally screw up icons. And it's true - it's so easy to get screw launch icons:) Player is very simple and great idea for older people :)

THE IDEA to make it easier: There could be done also in the way that you have to hold 5-10 seconds in order to get in the app list and change launch icon. Any idea is it possible to do? I could send donation if you would do that!:)

add ability to add folders not just apps to home screen

for example I would like to put all my emulators in a folder called emulators and occupies only one tile.

This would be an awesome feature to add on.

I installed some Android TV apps which only specify android.intent.category.LEANBACK_LAUNCHER in their manifest. The apps are launching fine via Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Launch

In your code where you load the apps you specify only CATEGORY_LAUNCHER for the filter and hence these apps are missing.

I didn't test it yet but adding CATEGORY_LEANBACK_LAUNCHER this code should make these apps also available:

It would be great if you could make this extension that also Android TV apps are listed

I'm giving a TV-Box to an elderly and I'd like to have the option to hide apps (user & system) and protect them with a PIN also being able to lock folders with a pin would be very useful. 🐈

Lot of time without knowing elderly mess with the apps and files and the TV-box stop working and they call me... 🤓 .

Would it be possible to ad those features to protect "non-tech" people from themselves 😉 ?

First of all this app is best one for my parents. My tv asks me if I want to use this app as default launcher and If I say yes then the home button on the remote run this app. This is very very useful feature. But If I unplug the cable of tv and restart tv again tv shows this app and I cannot close it by the exit button or any other way and cannot return to tv. If I turn of tv by the remote there is no problem. Can you add a button or icon or link to the default launcher from this app? But this app doesn't show me default app of tv, so I cannot use it

Hi. Thanks for the great launcher. Sometimes there is useful to protect app icons from edition, deletion etc. For example, I could give tv box to my father. As he is not skilled enough, there may have place accident deletion of app icons or other stuff. Most of the launchers lack this feature but, I couldn't imagine good launcher without it. It would be implemented as settings check box. After checking, main icons can only be launched, but not changed, added, removed. What would say about this?

When you use any other value higher than 5dp for the Y for margin the name disappear instead of scaling to be visible under the icon.

IMO it's only a small adjustment to the CSS to let the /text names scale instead of "sinking" to low.

Hi! i would like to tell you i love your app, and since i use it as my default launcher, sometimes i need to factory reset my tvbox, so i made a custom image with the default apps and everything i use, so i want to know if you can give some way or example to put the app that i use by default in the launcher, youtube, netflix, chrome and the settings, there is a way to do this? maybe adding some lines into the setup file? i modify the default value for grid in x from 3 to 2 and it worked

In settings I have no access to Screensaver settings. Even under android settings there's no way to configure. So I'm forced to get to the original launcher that will allow for changes.
