Custom filters

Hey,
I am trying to get this to work with the 3.5.3 Version. Unfortunately it seems there are some changes since then because it throws Errors when I include the app and try to start mayan. I actually am just trying to make the custom_filters.py work because I want to have a zip filter which is not included.
I did not find any information on how to include custom filters into mayan. That's why I tried to use your app to get at least to state where I can define custom filters.
Any help would be appreciated.
