does-it-flip's Issues

Does Shikhondo really support FlipGrip / how do you enable it?

I just got Shikhondo: Soul Eater and can’t figure out how to put it into TATE/vertical mode.

If you know how to change the mode, please let me know – or better yet, include that as a text field on the page itself (I’ll open a separate issue for that).

If you can’t, let’s remove it from the list then.

Add field how to enable the TATE/vertical mode

Different games have different ways how to enable their TATE or vertical orientation. It would be good to gather the info on how to do that – either in additional_info, or better yet, in a separate dedicated field.

If you implement that, I volunteer to add the info for the games I have.

Add also developer field?

Currently we only have the Publisher field, and while finding the developer on the eShop is not as easy, it might make sense for use to add that field.

What do you think?

Ikaruga!

Help, my flip grip just arrived so I immediately hopped onto the eshop and bought Ikaruga and it doesn't work 💔

The controls are also rotated so if I hit up in (when using the flip grip) I fly left and if I hit down I fly right.

HUD elements aren't rotated which is a secondary problem. The controls are the big issue.

I bought the flip grip for this game and bought this game for the flip grip. 😭

I have two games that do work ok (Switch&Shoot and The Walking Dead Pinball) but aaaah. I was all about that Ikaruga which I've never played but had on my bucket list

Standardise on all caps or not in certain games and studios

I notices some collections (e.g. Arcade Archives) have the game names in all caps. Do we want to continue changing those to normal case?

Same question regarding the names of some game studions (e.g. HAMSTER, DEGICA).

If so, some PRs I have opened need to be fixed before being merged.

Do all Hamster games have the same instructions?

Currently I see us using two different instructions for Hamster’s ports, and most of their games have no instructions at all.

If they indeed all have identical menus, we could quickly expand the info by copy-pasting 😸

A similar question could be about other series.

@riccyjay, do you have some insight here?
