Does not work on cinnamon DE

Would love a full screen notch, or a notch on each edge. We need more notch options.

It would be nice to be able to adjust the height in the extension settings. I got to strech my status bar to match the notch height and it's really big now D:

Please remove the notch as it is really annoying and nobody needs it.

Is there a way we can get this working with the login screen? I lock my screen a lot.

You realize the notch doesn't actually cut into any content and can't be seen most of the time, right? In full screen mode you get a completely black bar for your perfectly 16:10 content.

It's a net increase of screen space, how does a little piece of black bar send you into such a rage that you need to create a troll repo making fun of it? Genuinely curious of what possesses people to go through stuff like this?

In the readme it says:

This is the same behavior as hardware notch. Don't ask Apple to do things for developers, but ask developers to do things for Apple! So write your own code to modify your software.

Only Gnome displays the time in the middle of the taskbar at the top. Macs don't do that, so the notch doesn't cover anything.

Ironically, this is actually one the most useful and effective piece of software I can remember.

Useful to actually allow everybody to get a taste of the disrespect for the user that Apple introduced with its products and policies since quite a few years. Effective to generate a reaction in whoever stumble upon it, even very stupid reactions, which add value to this software by exposing something about people.

I can understand who still doesn't get it: I have been sick with the same disease for years. 🤷

I bought my first Mac in 1984, and I used and blindly loved Apple products for about 30 years (although hating some of its commercial choices). But at least the products were THE ABSOLUTE BEST, at least initially.

No, even better, add an option to make it r a i n b o w so that now, on top of being useless and screen-wasting, it's also overly distractive.

Thanks for this extension, it allowed me to upgrade my Dell Laptop to the new Mac Book Pro, at least mostly. Dell seems to have came up with the need to add several USB A ports, a display port and a Ethernet port. Apple would never allow this to detract from the "fugly" notch. It you really want to give the true apple experience, you should disable most of my ports.

Hi I am running GNOME on newly released 2021 Macbook. This extension is not displaying the notch on my laptop

The common desktop environment was released 30 years ago. If you write a port for this DE, it can be sent back in time, and people in the early days of desktop environments can understand the functionality, utility and superiority of a notch. This will result in more notched devices throughout time, making life better for everyone.

This extension while nice is written in a non-safe language, and should be rewritten in rust

if you want to make fun of it, go ahead! just like, don't accuse someone of trolling when they're not? and like, speak facts, and think about what you're saying a little and the impression that you are making on yourself (or don't think about it i guess... that's your choice)

nice project though, is kinda funny even from someone who just simply doesn't agree with it, especially with some things about the attitude and some of the things on the readme

Now I get it, it is supposed to be as useless and fuggly as apple's nuggetbook pro. But at least the real one will let you know when an app is trying to spy on you.

Bonus feature request for the iPhone/iPad versions:

Once you are sure you have selected what you wanted, please add a feature where when you try to copy the text, no copy takes place 50% of the time and you lose the selection you worked so hard on as a bonus.

Also, if the selected text is multiple paragraphs, has not been saved, and has been worked on for more than one hour, with a 10% chance, make sure said text gets deleted when a copy attempt is made. This should be done in a way that is unrecoverable via Undo and a single blank line should be stored on the clipboard in lieu of the copied text.

plz without this extension my laptop is borderline useless as i cant flex at people with inferior devices
