dagee's Issues

Problem detecting ROCm version

I get the following error when trying to configure DAGEE:

CMake Error at cmakeUtils/rocmVersion.cmake:10 (list):
  list GET given empty list
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  CMakeLists.txt:26 (include)

The problem is that this line https://github.com/AMDResearch/DAGEE/blob/master/cmakeUtils/rocmVersion.cmake#L8 assumes that the file is in /opt/rocm/. This is not the case on cluster I am working on. We have multiple version of rocm in /opt/rocm-XXX. Changing the path in cmakeUtils/rocmVersion.cmake fixes the problem.

Better debugging support for DAGEE

Debugging with DAGEE is difficult right now. Enabling printfs, as normal HIP kernels support, would be very helpful to make debugging easier.

Installation prerequisite

I am a little bit confused on what packages are necessary to use the library and which ones are necessary to compile the examples. The prerequisite says that I need atmi comgr hcc hip-base hip-hcc hsa-ext-rocr-dev hsa-rocr-dev hsakmt-roct hsakmt-roct-dev rocm-cmake rocm-dev rocm-device-libs but later on in the documentation only need atmi seems to be required. I am using a cluster where hsakmt-roct is not installed does this mean that I cannot use DAGEE at all or I just cannot compile the examples? atmi has been installed using the package manager so I assume that I can use it and that I don't need to build my own version of atmi.
