I'd like to have the option for the address bar and bottom bar to stay visible
until the page is fully loaded, then disappear after the preset amount of time,
as it currently works.
Thanks!

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.upgrade from Zirco 3.* to 4.*
2.open Zirco
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see Zirco run without causing Android default browser to run.
Instead Zirco runs but also default browser appears in running services and
consumes RAM.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
This happened on Zirco 4.0 after upgrading from 3.9. Device is Archos 43IT
running Android 2.2.1
Please provide any additional information below.
I never use the default browser and don't want to. If it was simply a case of
a one time import of bookmarks etc then that would be OK but in fact if I use
Zirco >3.9 it is opened every time and consumes resources.

An interesting feature is the possibility to change the browser agent string.
Some options are: Android, Iphone, Desktop
This feature is present in the modified version of the stock browser, so you

still this message in notification area. Even after closing zirco.

Hey,
I am a part of Spookiller project(read more http://spoofkiller.com/) by PayPal
, and I have added the spoofkiller implementation to your browser, Zirco. (a
version attached; click menu and select Browse Whitelist, select one site and
enter a username and password-no need to be real username and password).
We want to distribute our version in Marketplace. Are we allowed to change the
name of package and distribute the project with a new name?
Are you interested to add our Spoofkiller to main distribution of spoofkiller?
Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you,
Hossein

It would be awsome if this browser implemented the same multitouch events as
iOS webkit does. As far as understand is this browser also WebView/webkit
based, so it should certainly be possible.
As far as I know, some/newer versions of WebView does implement these events
(e.g. my Asus EEE Transformer does). I do not know whether it is possible to
detect whether the browser supports this or not.
I develop an web-app where we depend on the multitouch support, where we
provide an custom webview wrapper were we inject multi-touch events to a custom
API in our JS code. I think it should be possible make a general solution to
this.

I've been looking for a browser that uses the native rendering-engine as it is
hardware accelerated on my SGS.
What I miss with any browsers is a nightmode, which will make the browser
especially attractive for AMOLED-handsets. As zirco is already injecting js
into the websites, this should be easy to implement. There are already js's
(e.g. in j-query) that invert all colour-codes on the website. Include a short
snippet that determines if the background-colour is dark and you should be fine.
Hope this is not too complicated. Unfortunately I'm not capable of js, though
:(, but contact me if I can be of any assistance to the issue.
Best wishes,
noctux

I think it is important to let the user choose from different search engines,
specially because Google it is becoming a privacy nightmare :-/
I suggest to ask, in the first run of zirco, which search engine the user would
like to use. Possible options: Google, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo
(http://duckduckgo.com/). And then the user could change it later.

Feature suggestion:
Add the address-bar to the top of the scrolling page.
Usually the address-bar will not be visible but if you scroll up until the top
of the page the address bar will follow thereafter.
A title-bar element could be included the same way so that it would be visible
when entering a new page, but when you scroll down, the title scrolls with the
page out of the screen area.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have zirco-browser 0.4.1 installed
2. Open Google Market
3. Attempt to update zirco-browser
4. Update downloads.
5. Get error message saying "Package file was not signed correctly."
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected update to be installed.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Hello there,
The zirco browser is almost perfect, I'm using the latest version from the
market.
There's just one issue, which would be great if you could fix that. The volume
buttons always zoom in a webpage if you press them. You cannot adjust media
volume therefore, in videos for imstance. With the great working flash support
of the browser I would like to choose in the settings, what the volume buttons
will do if used. For example adjust volume or zoom in/out.
Best regards
Nikolaus Moser

Enable cookies and open http://www.grc.com/cookies/forensics.htm with zirco
Third party cookies (tracking cookies) should be disabled.
The page displays, that they are enabled.
Every desktop browser can disable 3rd party cookies, its the default setting
for most browsers.
The android browser component allows access to the cookie manager, it should be
easy to delete 3rd party cookies after the page has been loaded.
Tested with android 2.3.4 on motorola defy+

It would be great to have the ability to choose the destination folder for all
downloads instead of /sdcard/zirco/downloads

Hi people reading this,
For some times now, i've been thinking of making Zirco use the Android stock
bookmarks/history database, instead of its own database.
Main benefits would be:
* No need to maintain a database, code simplification;
* Bookmarks/history could be shared across browsers;
* Widgets displaying bookmarks would be able to display bookmarks from Zirco as
well;
Drawbacks:
Almost none, except for the transition: should Zirco bookmarks imported to
Android database? or simply drop them, forcing users to recreate their
bookmarks?
Feel free to give your opinion in comments (you can say "i don't care" :))
