It would be helpful to see when the original post author is replying to a comment on their thread. Maybe a different color for the author text or some icon to indicate this.

Should be able to expand/collapse like on HN and in other HN clients. Most accomplish this with a tap on the cell. It would collapse any child comments as well. Tapping again would expand it. It would need to present in a collapsed state.

Need to inspect items for content before adding them to the UI to avoid blank cells

Simple enough. There should be a dark mode toggle. Maybe a tap and hold on the status bar ala Apollo

It would be nice to be able to share a comment instead of the whole thread. Ideally this is a long tap on a comment that presents a share sheet

Some cells, particularly very long cells, will have a big empty space at the bottom of the cell. They should have consistent top/bottom spacing.

There’s a pretty reliable crash that occurs when you leave a comment thread before the comments have all loaded
