gemini's Issues

Upload to CTAN

Any chance this template will be uploaded to CTAN?

Thank you very much and keep up the good work!

Alert block body width

Hi,
when I compile the original code the background of the alerted block body is closes exactly with the text on the right side, so it is 1ex smaller than the alerted block title due to \begin{adjustwidth}{1ex}{1ex}.
When I modify the 2nd parameter, the width of the right side adapts accordingly so the background color still finishes with the background color. It would make sense to have the same behaviour like on the left side, where the text starts w/i 1ex inside the colored box.

Number "3" is offset when compared to other numbers

Hi there, I have an issue which I was unable to track down successfully, and it might not even be due to this template.
Regardless, given that I'm not sure where to even ask the question, I'm starting here.

My problem is remarkably simple: When using the number "3" in the institutes for one of the authors, the number is larger when compared to the others for no reason.
Here's an image showing exactly that:
image

Any idea on why this might be?
Is it something to do with the font? Because I don't want to change the font, I quite like this one.

Aspect ratio

Some conferences explicitly require submission of posters of 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio. This question is not directly related. If you do not think it is un-related, you can close it. How can we ensure that the poster generated is of a certain aspect ratio ?

\usepackage{enumitem} crashes

I'd really like to use the enumitem package, for both spacing and custom bullets in enumerations. Sadly, I get an infinite recursion error (I believe):

TeX capacity exceeded, sorry ...

Any idea where this clash would happen? It's not gemini I don't think, like you said it's a short style file, so it might be a beamerposter thing?

Can you create a template of this poster in overleaf?

I have tried to open it in overleaf, but the compilation fails:

LaTeX errors are always a vague gibberish to me, but this one is particularly so.

Increase body text font size

Thank you for this wonderful template. Suppose I wish to increase the body text font size - how do I go about it? Where in all those files is the "best" way to do it?

No need for a Makefile

Literally every LaTeX distribution comes with a small script latexmk which is already capable of doing everything in your Makefile.

Build (makes all the necessary runs and figures what is needed by itself):
latexmk --xetex --pdf or latexmk --lualatex --pdf

Clean temporary files:
latexmk -c

Clean both temporary and output files:
latexmk -C

request

Hi!
Very nice theme.
Please consider implementing an optional logo command/the option to include an institution logo graphic in a corner of choice.

unable to use Minted package

Thank you very much for your effort to build this template!

However, I am unable to minted with this template, for some reason it refuses to compile. Do you know how to resolve this?

Thank you!

textbf and emph not working

Im trying to use textbf and emph in blocks and its just showing up as normal text. is this my end or perhaps something with beamer.

How to add a subtitle?

Hi, your work is really great!

I try to add a subtitle, but it seems \subtitle{} didn't work.

How to adjust the size to A1 format.

   Hello,
I'm using your template to desing a poster. ¿Could you tell me how to change the dimensions to A1 size?

thanks in advance,

Diego Delgado

Feature: Figures that span columns

I have a large figure that I would like to horizontally span 2 columns, this is currently impossible without any hacks. I'll look for hacks for my upcoming poster, but would appreciate some native logic.

Is it possible to not display an institute?

Whe I leave out the \institute line, I run into the following error:
