sherpa_mini-extruder's Issues

Little questions about print settings

So in the print settings it states as follows:

Layer Height: 0.25mm
Extrusion Width: Forced 0.5mm
Infill Percentage: 40% minimum (at 0.8mm Width)
Infill Type: Grid, Gyroid, Honeycomb, Triangle or Cubic
Wall Count: 3 minimum (at 0.5mm Width)
Solid Top/Bottom Layers: 4 minimum (at 0.5mm Height)

Does that mean that the extrusion width for infill is 0.8 like this?

And what does 4 top/bottom laters at 0.5mm Height mean more exactly?

Thank you

Holes for mockup

Hello. I am developing a direct extruder on UltiSteel, but a new mockup cad rc1/beta3 without a pair of lower tightening holes for the screws. My design implies mounting through them on the hotend. These holes will remain in the new release of the stl? And is it possible to add them for mockup cad ?

collet adapter version has too large hole

the hole for the collet adapter as measured is 6.5-6.7mm, for proper fitment with e3d collets the hole needs to be 6mm.

Were the CAD for the modifed version provided, it would be a very easy fix, however the user mod version has no CAD file posted.

Release 2 CAD missing idler_arm_long

The CAD for release 2 seems to be missing the idler_arm_long part (or rather the part shows up in the model tree but is empty).

Steps to reproduce:

  1. download parasolid model sherpa_mini_release_2.x_t from commit fa76f44
  2. import model to Onshape
  3. navigate to "idler_arm_long^housing_sherpa_mini_a3_r16(FDM)" in the model tree
  4. part is empty

Wrong STL files?

I downloaded the latest release files for Sherpa Mini, but what I printed was Sherpa Micro. Are the STLs wrong?

Step file release.

Hello, thank for very nice design!
Can you guys please release the CAD or STEP file? I need to modify the extruder to use smaller brass Knurled insert.

version with 4.6 inserts

Is there any technical limitation on why 4.6 mm inserts cannot be used? they seem to be super popular in the Netherlands/Germany and 5mm is almost only can be bought from Chinese shops.

Release 2 Idler Arm Long collides with idler gear teeth

The idler gear teeth hit the long idler arm but not the short. Could be something slightly tweaked on the long version of the arm. Can't tell if there is anything different about them due to #40 or if it is a print issue. It does spin free if I put the gear in backwards. The tolerances on both due seem unnecessarily tight.

In CAD the Idler gear is 9.46mm in diameter and mine is 9.54mm and the CAD model gears has 0.25mm of clearance with the arm.

Normal cad file

Hello

Why don't you share stp or other editable file format as Salfin, Orbiter, Vz-HextrudORT, etc?

Edrawings can't be imported in solidworks and other apps. It says about unsupported format.

Teflon tube attachement

Hi there. I have been using the Sherpa Mini on my Voron V0 and it is a great design. The only issue I have (and it is a constant pain) is that the bowden tube does not hold in place in the hexagonal hole at the top of the extruder. There is no way I could use glue on a teflon tube. It would not hold to the material. Have you considered a slight modification of this hole to allow for a bowden adapter such as a PC4-M5 or a small clip version. I will try to drill out this hex hole to fit such an adapter but it would be great to provision something for it in the base design.
