mxnet-site's Issues

How To needed

Possibly as the text for README.md.

How does one build the site? Is it hand crafted, or is there a build step so that footer/header aren't repeated on each page?

Is there some system-generation to hook things in? Looks like it pulls some docs out of the source.

Migrate mxnet.io

The mxnet.io DNS needs to transfer over to Apache. Additionally it should not be hosting any site content that isn't on Apache.

Logo is not hosted on Apache site

The logo doesn't display for me (because I block cross-site calls). This is because it's coming from the old mxnet.io website. We should move that file over to this GitHub.

Company list doesn't fit Apache's policies

The section with company logos needs to comply with Apache's policies.

Currently it says:

"We sincerely thank the following organizations for supporting MXNet and sponsoring its major developers (alphabetical order)"

There are two issues there:

  1. There is no notion of major developers.
  2. Sponsoring means providing the Apache Software Foundation with support (of some form or another; up to ASF whether it calls it sponsoring), you don't sponsor a project/podling/person.

Footer needed

Under the Incubator footer we should say:

"Copyright © 2017, The Apache Software Foundation
Apache MXNet, MXNet, Apache, the Apache feather, and the Apache MXNet project logo are either registered trademarks or trademarks of the Apache Software Foundation. "

See https://www.apache.org/foundation/marks/pmcs for more info.

README.html is weird

For GitHub, the README.html is weird as it tries to display. Converting it to a README.md seems like it might be a good idea, so one can read it on GitHub.

CONTRIBUTING needed

Need a file that explains how to contribute a fix to the site. Including how to check out the source and whatever build steps are needed. How does one test?
