My proposal. How to bootstrap a new hooks repo:
$ npm install -g [email protected]
$ dredd-hooks-template init // creates the features directory in cwd
$ // developing new hooks
$ dredd-hooks-template test // runs the tests, expecting the features directory in cwd
Updating:
$ npm install -g [email protected]
$ dredd-hooks-template update // copies updated 'features' directory contents to the one in cwd, but with `~version` suffix to their extension
$ ls features
execution_order.feature
execution_order.feature~v2.0.0
...
$ // hooks author manually merges the files
$ dredd-hooks-template test // runs the tests, expecting the features directory in cwd
Wouldn't go into any rocket science regarding the update now.
