Inscriber Icon Press

I run into this problem since AE1: I have many ME Drives with Storage Cells each stores a group of items, like Dusts, Ingots, Gems, Plants, etc. But with so many Drives its getting hard to find one particular Cell to modifiy its partition.

My Idea was to change the Icons of the Storage Cells. Like stickers on my disks to identify them visually in the ME Drive.

Here in AE2 I use the Insciber name Press to name my Disks.
To implement my feature: There could be a expensive option using a gold ingot to create a “Inscriber Icon Press” with the Cutting Knife. (The Knife needs then a additonal item slot next to the text box to set a item as a template to carve the icon into the gold).

The Inscriber Icon Press (shaped as the item) can then be pressed onto a Storage Cell in the Inscriber.

I know this is a big suggestion and would need new items added to the mod. But I would love to see some more customization for my network.
For cables we have colors and facades and some decorative blocks. But I would like to have this for my Storage Cells as well ;D

Sky Stone Brick Stairs

I really like the Skystone blocks (Normal, Brick, Small Brick).
I think it would be nice to have them as stairs, especially the Sky Stone Brick.

Wall Mountable Wireless (Access) Terminal (WAT)

It would be super cool if we could take a Wireless Terminal and mount it on the wall like an item frame, it would still need to be taken down and recharged sometimes (or as a bonus, the ability to mount it on a power cable or power producer for continuous charge).

Benefits: Mid-Ranged ME Extender that fills the gap between too-far-to-run-cable & too-close-to-warrant-a-bridge.

IOPS Item monitor

A monitor that has two numbers on it, the first one is how much of that item is outputted in some reaction per hour based on averages. The second number is how much of that one item is inputted in some reaction per hour based on averages. This would be a recipe that upgrades the Item monitor. It might still have the option to tell you how many of that item is there. Either way, I would find this feature very interesting.

Also, Great job on this mod. 11/10. My favorite mod hands down.

logical channels

I played in the AE2 and to be honest I am delighted thoroughness mod with both technical and with decorative accents. AE2 partially correspond with mod Logistic Pipes, while it lacks for some important features. What would you complete to it is proposed to add the following traits (via interface or abgreyt cards)

  1. the ability to set the priority for AE Export BUS (EB) [when supplying items is impossible activate EB with lower priority]
  2. the ability to regulate the ratio of issuance of one type of object in different EB. [EB interface set not only the item type but also the number of items]
  3. the ability to stop EB according to a certain amount of supplied items in the container where it is mounted.

Just in AE2 unlike Logistic Pipes is possible to control the issuance of items of items in the system, but it is implemented through Redstone signal (AE Level Emitter), that bit does not match the atmosphere of extraterrestrial technologies. One can offer add to AE2 logical channels common to each system. Each channel can be converted to true position by some AE elements. Also, some of the AE elements may be controlled by these channels.

Examples of triggering:
At the system/on the disc there is a certain amount of items
Activity of a AE component (export / import bus, p2p tunnel, ext)
Certain amount of energy in energy cell
Different sensors other blocks like Gates in Build Craft

Examples of what channels can manage:
Activate AE components (export / import bus, p2p tunnel, drives ext)
Import/Export/craft of a certain items
Redstone signal generation

Crafting Nodification in terminal

what I am asking for in here is that instead of the little text saying craft in the bottom of the item display there should be another text if this item is already being crafted. for example the text could switch from 'craft' to 'being crafted' or 'crafting...'. also if you are opening the crafting dialog instead of always seeing 0 you should see the amount already in the crafting queue.

IC2 Tunnels Limit of 1 Tunnel per Block

The IC2 API Doesn't support sided transfers, to even support IC2 Tunnels I had to disable them if there are more than one tunnel per block.

  • If I get enough duplicate posts of this bug, I'll remove them all together.

Bee Card for Import/Export Bus

a card that expands the GUI so you can fine tune the Genome of the bee you would like to be imported/exported for use with forestry and its expansions. All options should have a on/off, and selection method. So the ability to choose ex. (species, lifespan, and fertility) wile ignoring everything else.

Mid to late game grindstone use

Not sure of what it could be but would it be possible to have a mid to late game use for the grind stone. Possibly an upgrade to it to help it go faster or process more.

CPU selection

Ability to select which CPU will export bus/interface use for crafting (default: automatic/use any available). Would be useful if you have 1 big and 7 small CPUs and you set an interface to keep charcoal stocked(has to be run through a furnace), if interface uses the big CPU you can't request any big crafting jobs.

The idea is that these can be used to fortify your base / storage room with your network security system.

Tag Card

Card that can be have a 'Tag' (such as weapon, machine, bee, etc...) given to it.

When used with anything that places items into the system this card causes items imported to receive the tag. When used with anything that can retrieve items from the system, this card limits the retrievable items to anything with that tag.

So, placed in an access terminal that card would cause items items you place into the system with that terminal to be tagged and the terminal would only display items with the matching tag. Consequently, any items placed into the system with this method would also end up using a separate slot from items without tags or with different tags.

Finally, when placed in an export bus the card would cause the bus to be considered 'configured' even if it is, causing the bus to export all items with that tag if otherwise unconfigured.

Extending security to Sub Networks

With the new implementation of channels, utilizing subnets is pretty much a given, (wich I love BTW) especially if you intend to cover your entire base. Placing a security terminal on each one seems a bit overkill.

What I'm suggesting would be to add a cable similar to quartz fiber that instead of allowing networks to share power would share the security preferences provided by your main network's security terminal.

ME Shop Terminal

First of all im not speaking English so if this post is not good fix me.

The idea of the terminal is like the ExtraCells Terminal, that you choose fluid and puting a bucket and then its giving you the fluid in a bucket.
so... you choose what you want to buy, its telling you what is the cost, and you put it in special slot.
im not talking about a money system, im talking about paying with items.

Tinker's Construct integration

Why not add integration with Tinker's Construct by letting Certus Quartz be crafted into TCon tools? It may not seem like much, but it might be a nice little feature.

Redstone Ideas

So the best feature I have seen so far from the trailer has been from RedBoss. Got me thinking.

What if you could upgrade level emitters? Or somehow set them to like comparator mode? Had analog. :) Or same for buses for when/when not to operate? That one might be a lot trickier.

Anyway, thought it was a cool idea and it is like the first time I've ever check IRC and you were not there so passing it on here. heh

Remote Machine Access

I don't know about other players, but whenever I build my base I try to keep it as clean and slick as possible with as much wiring and machines hidden. but I always need to keep a basic amount of machines available for access for when I need to manually process a material, but most of the common things can be automated.

but I've always been wanting to still find a way of getting rid of those basic machines, but still being able to use them. so I was thinking of a special type of P2P tunnel which you can attach onto machines.

you need to attach it onto an import side of the machine, and when connected to the network, you'll be able to access that machine's GUI through the AE system. you simply walk to a terminal, select a special machines tab and that tab will show you all the machines that are attached onto the system through these special P2P tunnels. you can then select the machine you want to access and the GUI will automatically pop up. perhaps with a function when you close the machine's GUI you'll be automatically be brought back to the terminal screen.

you could ofcourse attach an import bus onto the machine and the system will automatically import the resources from the machine.

now this isn't a very needed feature nor very important, but it'd be quite helpful as you wouldn't need to keep these machines constantly available and you could hide them away with the rest of the things that you don't want to constantly look at

Mount cell

Mount cells are cells which you can attach on donkeys and mules to carry items, you would be able to store more items, but looking at the items and taking items out would require energy, just like the portable cell, To charge it, shift click on the donkey/mule to get the mount cell back and put it in the charger. You would only be able to see the items inside the cell when the cell is attached to a donkey or a mule. The mount cell would have 2048 bytes and would be able to store 4 times more than a portable cell, you would get the mounted cell by shapelessly combining 4 portable cells and an ME chest.

More intuitive P2P Tunnels (labels)

When there's multiple P2P tunnels linked from the controller to other P2P tunnels, it can tedious to figure out which tunnels belong to what when re-arranging things. To make it easier, some sort of color (code combination) label could be added.

Provide an advanced network tool

I like the network tool. It's got plenty of storage for some upgrade cards, at-a-glance details of my power consumption, and wrench behavior with a sneak click. I'd love to be able to upgrade it to do some additional stuff.

Specifically, I'd love if it could save me the trouble of pulling off a bunch of cable facade just to tinker with my import / export / interface / storage buses. If I right click on a block that has these things connected to it, I'd love to be able to see them under the button that allows you to switch from seeing AE/EU/MJ/etc, and open their GUI, then interact with it like I normally would.

Some folks design their bases so that everything is readily accessible and that's fine, but when you get into long rows of machines placed in a line against a wall, it gets a little tedious.

For example, I have a macerator with an import bus, and an export bus attached to it. Clicking on the macerator with the new advanced tool would show me the normal network tool information and the button to switch between power types for the display, but also (under the button that toggles that) shows me that I have an import bus, and an export bus, and lets me open their GUI by clicking on them on the left.

You could call it an advanced network tool, requiring both annihilation and formation cores so that it can place or remove upgrade cards. Would save a lot of time for those of us that like to keep our cabling concealed, or just can't make it very accessible due to other constraints.

Channel manipulation

These are blocks that would partly allow you(also with some currently existing blocks) to make an advanced channel handling system that allows you to shut off any blocks that are not doing anything. This will also allow you to have more blocks connected than you could before channel-wise, this would allow for compact emergency systems that are not running all the time

Channel detector
The channel detector checks how many channels are passing through the channel detector and sends out a redstone signal if there is a certain amount of channels used or analog. Multipart.

Channel filters
Channel filters are an advanced version of the toggle bus, but allowing to filter specific blocks and allowing to manipulate the channels through the channel filter and more;
Channel handling settings;
-High Priority: will make channels go through the channel filter on an intersection instead of the shortest route;
-Normal;
-Low Priority; will make channels on cables avoid the channel filter accept if they have no other chose;
Redstone settings;
-Filter on redstone signal;
-Filter without redstone signal;
Block handling settings: this would allow you to select a certain block in the network to blacklist/whitelist it.

Spatial Storage Formatting

Once used, a spatial storage unit is only usable in spatial pylons setup with the same dimensions as initially used to store the blocks. It would be very helpful if the spatial storage unit could be reformatted and the dimension released so that it could be reused in another configuration.

Inverted P2P

It would be really cool if there could be an inverted P2P tunnel, where you can input at multiple places, and output at one. Would be really useful, because Thaumic tinkerer is currently the only way to do something like, put more than 6 pipes into one block for fast transport, and TT is not 1.7. Also, in TT you have to research things to get them, which is slightly annoying. I hope you agree with this idea!

ComputerCraft Integration?

The ME Interface, or a new block added to AE2, could interact with the computer, allowing for the enabling/disabling of channels, cables, and such. As well as increased security, which could interact with a security station of some kind.

Such as, a CC program that reads interactions with the ME system by player name and time past, in minutes and seconds. The computer could output to a monitor, and when the program runs, it logs every event that occurs within the connected network.

The printed message could look something like this:
DatJoshKid opened ME Terminal 5 minutes ago

This would allow more careful monitoring of the ME system, and also power management if used by a clever program. I don't know if this is something on your side or CC's.

Upgrades for Portable Cell.

Add two upgrades for the Portable cell.

-Annihilation Pane Upgrade : Allows the the Cell to absorb a Items from your inventory from its built in Whitelist, that you set with a Shift click on the upgrade itself.

Example : It can pick up Cobblestone as your mining and it will automaticly go into the cell.
Example 2 : It can Pick up all the Ore as your Mining,

-Formation Pane Upgrade : Allows the cell to Drop things into your Inventroy from its Inventory from its built in Whitelist, that you access with a Shift click on the upgrade. Keeps up to a Stack in your Inventory of Whitelisted items.

Example : It fills adds a stack of Cobble to your inventory and fills it as you use it.

Example 2 : Your out Mining and your pick Breaks, it automaticly Adds another to your inventory when it sees it broke.
