arangodb-exporter's Issues

Add building instructions

One needs to set DOCKERNAMESPACE and then say make, it seems. Please add to README or to another file.

arangodb.jwtsecret

This parameter is configured to report the following error.

ERRO[5959] Failed to fetch statistic descriptions: not authorized to execute this request source="exporter.go:188"

Name choice?

Based on the name, my expectation was that this would be a tool similar to the starter, but for exports (e.g. export all databases, whereas arangoexport / arangodump only deal with one database at a time). It could potentially confuse users because we also have arangodb and arangoexport executables.

The description in the readme is more telling:

This exporter exposes the statistics provided by a specific ArangoDB instance in a format compatible with prometheus.

Does it transform metrics in real time to whatever prometheus needs? Or are statistics recorded, then converted and exported (not live)?

Mask username and password in --arangodb.endpoint

Currently when I specify --arangodb.endpoint=http://username:password@ip: port, i can still see the password not encrypted and this is stopping me from using this exporter is there a way to encrypt the password so users can't see the real password when they run ps command?

Thanks

Username & Password Authentication?

Hi, thanks for doing this exporter. I've had a bit of trouble trying to get this working, it would be helpful to add a link to the docker container for this arangodb/arangodb-exporter in the readme, as it's not that easy to find.

It looks like the only authentication method provided is using a JWT secret. In our environment we usually use a username & password to authenticate to arango, is that possible with the current version?

Connection parameters from environment variables

Hi, thanks for doing this exporter!
I am trying to run it inside docker container using arangodb-exporter image, for now it seems that I can not pass any parameters (e.g. endpoint, jwtsecret) to the exporter other than through command.

Is that correct? Is there any possibility to pass arguments to the exporter through environment variables?

Mb related to #3

Can`t connect to arangodb

ERRO[0012] Failed to fetch statistic descriptions: not authorized to execute this request source="exporter.go:188"

Not managing to connect to arango with the exporter 0.1.7

Please create changelog

Please before next release - add in particular an item for the use of token instead of secret and use of file instead of string - PR #5

@lamai93 FYI

Add usage instructions

I managed to run prometheus on it, but some information on how to point prometheus at it would be nice. Furthermore, a quick overview over the offered metrics would help. Please ignore if this is somehow self-discoverable. Is there a Grafana-Dashboard available?
