ugh. just when I think I'm finished with this, I discover that something I need to use does something I don't account for.

Apparently the "browser" property isn't just a replacement for "main", it can also contain replacements for specified files (See uuid)

path -> path/index.js or path -> path.js don't work

Even in development/staging/beta environments, comments and empty lines for formatting aren't necessary while debugging as the original source can be referred to. Perhaps this could also be enabled with a command line argument

While preserving the file-structure of a project and its dependencies produce sane error messages and make in-browser debugging a lot easier, bandwidth can be saved by compressing one big file instead a shitton of small ones, which would be preferred in so-called "stable" environments. Perhaps a command argument should be introduced that packs all the code found belonging to list into one file (and perhaps combine lists that shared definitions in their own files)
