DayZCommunityOfflineMode 4.1

The DayZ Community Offline Mode offers the ability, to explore the world of DayZ in a singleplayer environment. While this mode does not represent the actual DayZ gameplay it offers other possibilites for developers, content creators and player who do want to experiment around but not loose all their progress from online.

This is UNOFFICIAL, so don't blame the DayZ development team if this is not working at all for you!

Info for server owners & mappers

There is now a wiki page available on how to use the community offline mode to spawn map objects on your server or mission you are working on: Add custom objects to your server or mission

Installation

Download this zip archive.
Make sure you are on the latest STABLE or EXPERIMENTAL version of the game.

Place the Missions folder inside your DayZ game directory (For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DayZ).

Now you now start the script DayZ/Missions/DayZCommunityOfflineMode.ChernarusPlus/DayZCommunityOfflineMode.bat to start the game. You will be loaded directly into the offline mode.
Or add the following start parameter to your game: -mission=.\Missions\DayZCommunityOfflineMode.ChernarusPlus

To uninstall this mod, simple delete all downloaded files, and rename your .disabled folders back to their original name.
You might delete your whole Missions folder and validate your game files via steam to get the original DayZ files back.

Controls

  • Y (Z for QWERTZ-Keyboard) - Open the COM toolbar menu.
  • X - Toggle Autojog/walk/run
  • X + SHIFT - Enable Autorun (Just X to disable it again)
  • X + CTRL - Enable Autowalk (Just X to disable it again)
  • END - Teleport at the position you are looking at
  • O - Spawn a random infected (Zombies)
  • O + CTRL - Spawn a wolf (Agressive and will fight both players and infected)
  • O + SHIFT - Spawn a random animal
  • R - Reload the weapon and refill the ammo (Infinite ammo)
  • P - Display your current position in the chat and print it to your logfiles (See logfiles section for their location)
  • B - Toggle debug monitor
  • INSERT - Toggle free camera. This teleports your player to the position you looked at when turning it off

Object Editor Controls

  • Click objects to select them.
  • Click and drag objects to move them.
  • Click on nothing to deselect the current object.
  • Middle Click to snap to ground (Might not be accurate)
  • Spawn in new items using the object spawner menu that can be found in the toolbar.
  • You can either enter values on the onject editor gui or hover above the value with your mouse and use the scroll wheel to in-/decrease them.

Loot and infected spawn

By default the "Hive" that is repsonsible for spawning loot and infected is enabled. If you want to prevent loot and infected from spawning you need to follow this guide: Toggle loot and infected spawn

Disabling the hive increases the game performace.

Logfiles

In case you want to report errors to us or the offical dayz dev team, you might need logfile info. We also save the positions you printed ingame in it so that you might revisit them later on by saving them in some textfile. Locations are stored inside the script.log for now.

You find your logfiles here: Press WINDOWS + R -> Type in %localappdata%/DayZ -> Hit enter.

Don't work for me

Hi,
I have an issue, when i start the game with DayZ_x64 the game lauch online and the mod basically doesnt work, however when i use steam and choose to lauch in solo, there's just the plain sky background and i cant do anything.
Hope you can help me, just want to try this cool mod

Character not saving?

Hi! Didn't know save system was added, been looking at files etc but I noticed while storage_-1 is created
data folder is empty

players.db is 12kb,

noticing no saving whatsoever, despite running around for a bit, is this something on my end? Or am I doing something wrong. I have tried exiting the game though clicking exit and the traditional ALT + F4, relogging I come back to a new character. Thanks in advance!

Does not seem to work anymore

this does not work for me as well, instructions are clunky and unclear,
The DayZ_x64.exe starts online mode not offline mode, you have to right click in your gamelist on steam to go into offline mode.

When unzipping the .zip file the file reads DayZCommunityOfflineMode-master, are you only suppose to transfer the contents inside the file over or the whole file, instructions are very unclear on what to do?

Two small suggestions for the Object Editor

1- Some objects such as trees, bushes and some other kind of objects cannot be spawned with the object spawning menu. Wonder if it would be possible to select an object and being able to create a copy of it.

2- Disabling camera velocity when you enable the Object Editor, so you don't fly 600km away when rotating anything by mistake hahaha.

I'm really enjoying this mod. Thanks to Arkensor and the people who contributed.

Free Camera Zoom Function

Possibility for a Free Cam zoom function.

For standard zoom (1pp/3pp zoom): Middle Mouse Button while in free cam mode

For manipulating fov: PageUp/PageDown

New Mission Change Character?

Is there a way of changing the default character? Previously, you could amend Playercreate.c to achieve this, but can you do this now?

I know we're a long ways out but..

Is it possible we'll see A.I. bots like a Sarge AI system on this offline mode?

Or would it make sense to wait till a further branch with more final code to even bother starting?

Just wondering of the possibilities, thanks to everyone contributing to this!

Blue Sky Screen

Hello there, appreciate all the hard work you've put into this.

I've got the BLUE SKY screen, locked... can't do anything.

Tried reinstalling on seperate directory, tried remove dta file and verifying, tried deleting everything and reinstalling, tried both options of running, tried directory as Launch Parameter manually without & with your code.

I couldn't possibly want to get my hands on anything more. Thanks for any help.

Spawning Player Models and Zombies

Whenever I spawn a player model (normal or decayed) or zombies and I kill them, the game seems to think my character has died but doesn't do anything unless I restart the mission file or close out of the game.

Method of spawning is through the item/object spawner

Zoom in while sprinting?

I noticed that you can no longer zoom in while sprinting. but I found a way to do it. So is there a way you can take advantage of it? When you are zooming in and quickly tap Sprint as you release middle mouse button you will Sprint while stuck in zoom mode. So is there a way to bind to a single key?

(Edit : so it allows to zoom in while sprinting without my method? I know it's more of the developers issue but hoping for a temp fix)

Dunno if it's relevant to what's going on here but I do have everything running fine awesome work with this, can't wait for more updates!

First of all great mode!

How exactly do i spawn objects / loot ?
I cant seem to spawn anything with the objectspawner.

Any way to increase values like overall zombie count?
Singleplayer is too easy.

is it possible to convert the SP map into an MP map?
Maybe we can do something like play with friends via hamachi n stuff.

Access to other animations?

Would love to be able to access all the other animations that don't seem to be on the gesture wheel. Perhaps an additional animation menu?

Photo mode

Would it be possible to add a shallow Depth of Field effect when in free cam mode? They have this in Arma 3 and it is awesome for making artistic screenshots.

Would it be possible to pose or take control of the spawnable survivor models? You can place clothing and other items on the models after you have killed them, but unfortunately there is no way to bring them back to life as far as I know.

They wont shoot

any gun i spawn in just does not work they wont shoot i cant add a mag or anything, but the gun u start with works fine.

Stuck at splash screen.

Seems that DayZ won't load past the greenish splash screen. I tried running the .bat file as administrator and it said DayZ63.exe not found.

Found something interesting..

If you hold (S+RMB) you can throw punches (LMB) at zombies all day without taking any damage, just thought I'd share ;)

(Edit : also works with melee weapons - I'm guessing it's bugged this way cause blocking isn't implemented yet?)

(Edit#2 : well it doesn't work on wolves lol.. got sniffed out by 6 of them shot 2 and the others ran off.. needless to say I now have some wolf steaks for the camp!)

AddInventoryReservation error

despite correct installation (several times) this error pops up when launching either through steam or through the root executable, abort and ignore crash the game whilst retry does nothing

i believe it has something to do with the stress test branch being updated roughly an hour ago

Removal of progress wheel

I noticed that when you disable everything on your hud, the progress wheel when interacting with items still remains. Is it possible that can be disabled also in a future CommunityOfflineMode build?

Runtime mode

scroll wheel editing move affecting speed of camera

"SCROLL WHEEL - Move object up-down/Yaw/Pitch/Roll" affecting "SCROLL WHEEL - Speed of Camera" then you try to edit in "Free Camera Mode", it makes unwanted quick moves of camera after editing, it's very annoying.

Free camera problem.

Hi,

I have problem with free camera. When I press INSERT game open inventory, change camera to 1st/3rd person and write my position and sometimes spawn zombie or sometimes game starts teleporting my character around all map, but I have not got free camera.
What is the problem?

And in the end I really like your community offline mode, for me is better than original offline mode from devs and sorry for my English I am from SLOVAKIA.

Restarting mission doesn't reset character anymore also?

I assume it will stay this way until we have the option to change our character models?

I just find it slightly annoying I can't quickly restart the mission to spawn as a new character anymore and have to just commit suicide which takes longer.

Not able to move spawnable entities

As of right now I am not able to move spawnable characters or manipulate them (even if they are dead), except put clothing on them. I also cannot roll, pitch or yaw animals (only move them). Will we see any changes to this in the future?

Blue Sky

So I resolved the splash screen issue by changing the DayZ parameters in Steam rather than launching with the .bat file. Now I spawn into a blue sky and can see/do nothing.

Strange this is, this is a different computer but it's the same install of DayZ on a seperate SDD drive under D:\DayZ - I'm thinking it has to do with my install directory?

EDIT: Right as I posted this the newest vers came out and fixed it, thank you!

Cant compile (Compile error Can´t comile missions init script`!)

Problem:

  • I follow the instructions, copy the Missions folder and run the game from the "Reset Hive and play" file
  • The game starts but the following error show up (https://i.imgur.com/i4okSRQ.png)
  • The screen do not move foward of a light blue background where you can access the menu (continue, reset, options, but if you press reset, the Dayz logo shows up and never start the game).
  • The error window keep poping up
  • Never had this problem with the previous patch._

Change character?

Hello! I want to change the CreateRandomPlayer value in playercreate.c so I can spawn as the survivor I would like and just that one, how would I go about doing this? Thank you very much in advance :)

Possible error with object editor?

Every time I enable the object editor it only allows me to select objects, but I can't manipulate them in anyway (even objects I spawn in).

Is it possible the error occurs when I enable the object editor, but it also enables god mode at the same time?

Unable to save?

Is there a branch released where I can save, spawn undead, and edit objects?
I got the most recent development branch but I seem unable to use many of the old commands have they been removed to be later added to the new GUI?

Control CameraFOV numerically.

Give us options:

  1. to control CameraFOV by numbers
  2. display actual CameraFOV (for example in debug monitor)

btw. what is minimal and maximal available CameraFOV ?
