Multiple domains per account about goatcounter HOT 8 CLOSED

I now implemented this as "subsites": every site can have any number of subsites, which inherit the plan and users of the parent and are linked on the top of the page. The "domain" field has been renamed to "name" (since it was never really linked to a domain).

Doing it like this (instead of presenting everything in one big overview) is a lot easier to implement, and also means we don't have to think about various UI issues.

Let me know if you want any sites merged or added as a subsite.

Yeah, I ran in to this as well. Need to think about how to present this kind of stuff UI-wise, since displaying just the path won't be enough.

Note that you can already just add it to any domain – it's not checked – but you won't be able to tell if /foo.html is from domain a or domain b.

Awesome. I see, "Additional Sites", in the UI but there doesn't seems to be any UI controls to add one? How do I do that?

Cool, I see the field is labelled, “Subdomain”, is that just a label or does it need to be a sub domain of the parent? I’m looking to track distinct domains.

The subdomain is where you access your site, i.e. example.goatcounter.com. I'm not sure if there's a beter label for that 🤔

Nothing is tied to a domain (the field "domain" got renamed to just "name"). You can use the same instance to track multiple domains if you want (but then there is no way to distinguish between example.com/page and other.com/page).
